Guessing from a query that came up on Google that it's related to the name Carlin?

A couple of references in the British newspapers on FMP

Was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the Shirland Sick and Dividing Society? My great grandfather was involved with it but am struggling to find anything about it along with the "Loyal Jackson" Order of Oddfellows (Manchester Unity)
Any help appreciated
