	It is not necessary to remove your tree to allow an upload, but you can only upload one Gedcom per registration. If you import a file for one branch of your family and then import a second file, the first one will be automatically deleted and it is not possible to retrieve the data. The above is from the help section of this site. Doesn't sound like there is anything you can do - unless you exported your own trees gedcom prior to uploading your f-i-l tree.

	When you import a GEDCOM there is a warning given about what will happen to your existing tree. If possible it will try to merge the new data with your existing tree but the usual result is the loss of existing data. It is good practice to export your tree as aa GEDCOM to keep as a backup, whenever you make large changes.
