........... not to mention those lost completely until one decides to 'walk the street' and look at all the neighbours and find the wanted family although the transcription has them logged under the surname of the people living next door. |

They have waited all these years to be found, I'm thinking they wont mind the wait. Thank you Kath, then others can find them. |

I sent in the correction to Findmypast. It says that it can take up to 90 days for them to check it and change the transcription if they agree with what is given. |

lol I am so glad I am not the only one to get confused. I would like you to correct it if you can Kath. Hi greyghost, I am still hunting and will gradually fill in the blanks. |

Do you want me to report the mis-transcription on Findmypast or can you do this yourself? |

hi 1861 was looking up Thomas Kay, b 1790, High Bridge St, Newcastle on Tyne. That wasn't the problem. I found Eleanor, Ralph, Jane A. and George Mole living there but the name transcribed was Moh. No wonder I couldn't find them |

Which site have you looked at the census on? If it is Genes then i don't think you can do anything as Genes don't hold the records. |

I accidentally came across family members while looking for someone else. I hadn't found these people when searching earlier. The original census is a bit messy and hard to read and they transcribed the surname incorrectly. How can I have this corrected? |
