Do you mean sites on which to research and find records - such as Ancestry or FindMyPast? |

Trees on Genes & Findmypast are 'private'. With Ancestry you have to opt out of your tree being public. |

I have FamilyTreeMaker2005 - an old version but is easy to use and I just add to it when I find anything new. |

Like yours, its an offline tree programme. Not FTM but a different brand. They both do the same thing. |

If your Ancestry tree includes records and images you should really save them as well as the GEDCOM. |

To save the records and images you can get FTM 2017 or later and synch it to you Ancestry tree. That will ensure that most of the tree is downloaded to your PC (comments and notes might not be). You can then back up your FTM tree to a USB drive, |
