I wonder if anyone could help me find a marriage.


this is the birth of rose patricia preston and gives mothers maiden name as Onions

but I cant find a marriage between a preston and onions where the brides surname was onions

I also thought I would be able to find the family on the 1939 census but not had any luck with that either

If the mother had been married before, you need 2 marriages to get there. Do you know her name?

Is Rose still alive - would not show in 1939 if so.

Is she from the family with 2 sets of twins, births 1921 to 1933 Liverpool and W Derby?

she died this year so that's why she wasn't on the 1939. I didn't know that.

she did come from a family of twins but don't know what their names were.

If you go to the free site which many of us use and search on births, you can type in the surname PRESTON and mother's maiden name ONIONS and you will see a list of names of people who had those parents.

They are not necessarily all one family, but in one registration area it is likely that there is at least an extended family relationship.
If the reference numbers are the same, it is more probable that the births are for twins.

she came from a family of 10 children but they didn't all survive

is there anyway that I could find out who her parents were

Not seeing any of them on the 1939 register so looks you will have to get Rose birth cert

I couldn't have asked her when she was alive as the family was split and had an argument so didn't speak for many years. The info i have is from another family member who told me after rose died.

Onions seems to be a popular surname in the Liverpool area. Robert Onions born 1899 married Amelia Preston in Liverpool 1927. I know the surnames are the wrong way round but brothers could have married sisters. If you look in other peoples trees there is a man who has Robert Onions in his tree so maybe if you try to contact him he might be able to help.
