Can anyone work out this relationship please?

My daughter's grandmother had a brother.

So does that make him a great Uncle to my daughter?
Also my grandson. Is the Uncle 2x great Uncle to my grandson?

I should know, but my brain has gone to sleep tonight!! LOL

Thanks Sylvia for confirming I was thinking right!

Apparently the correct term is grand uncle (or grand-uncle or granduncle), the next level up is great granduncle.

I have only just discovered that, I always thought it was great uncle.

I think Grand Uncle is more an American term. I've always used great uncle to describe my relatives. I think both terms are interchangeable.
