I have found that some of the Standen clan moved to Australi and have found the links to my tree. However cannot find when od who in the Standen tree went to USA and which decendent he was from. Anyone out there that can help please

Please also tell us what research you have done yourself - for instance, have you looked at passenger lists on either of the main genealogy websites?

Have you looked at US census records on familysearch?

On Ancestry -

the earliest arrival of a Standen in the USA from UK is in 1849.
There's a Standon in 1848. Also three Stanten children (probably brothers) in 1846, but they're Irish.

The most recent Standen arrival showing on Ancestry was in 1957.

Where ages are given, they range from 1840 to 1935.


How do you know that any of your Standens went to the USA?
Do you have relatives there now?
Are you going by a DNA result?

I wasted my time looking up the info - it's all been provided on other threads, of which there are more than the two highlighted above.

Bev, you have put on your tree here an Alan Standen bn Sydney 1929 and an Andrew bn 1958, If you have got them from other online trees, who are they descended from, as all the Standen's mentioned so far on your threads are in England.

Some of the first names are the same, ie William and Samuel and John but the dates and place of birth in England do not match with what you sent me in a previous message, or with the Standen family we know to be definitely yours on the census in Portslade Sussex as per the threads.
