Thank you Choccy.... that ties with what I was suspecting when I couldn't find a suitable marriage for an Arthur Skerrett. |

My grandmother was illigimate and did exactly the same, married under her original name even though showing under her mothers married name in 1901. She also named her stepfather as father, who the transcribers assumed was the same surname as her. |
