Joseph Creek born c1900-1910. Do not know where born, possibly New Zealand. Married Winifred Rose Morris 1930's New Zealand.

He may have been from the Waitmati area New Zealand.

I am completely stumped with this man. I cannot find anything prior to his marriage to Winifred.

Hello Everyone.

I appreciate all of the effort you lovely people have gone to in helping me find my Joseph Creeke.

All the Creeke family I can find are from the Bay of Islands New Zealand.

The answer is in this family for sure but which female is his mother??

He married my grandmother Winifred Rose Morris nee Ferguson in 1935. The marriage certificate for them quotes his father as being Winifred's father. Not sure why but assuming he did not know who his father was. He gave his birth year as 1906. I have one photo of him in about mid 1930's. He looked a lot older than the 30's he proclaimed to be. The death certificate give his age as 51 years old as his son Maxwell did not know how old he was so took a guess. Have tried illegitimate births with NZ Genealogy but you have to have the mother's name which I don't. He has very dark skin which could be attributed to some Maori blood. The Creeke family comes from Mauri heritage but a long time ago 1840's. DNA testing did not show any Maori blood.

I am at a loss as I think this birth may be the 1897 one or a non registered one.

Don't know where to go.

His address 1935 was Kaitangiweka (Waikato) Labourer. c/o Mr. C. Mcmanus.


Could be that he might just remain a mystery, some things are never found out!...(and yes, it is frustrating, lol)
