If the particulars have been worded correctly (apart from the fact that it says "formally" instead of "formerly"), it's only the livingroom which used to be a granary.

However, the same applies as for The Granary - it won't appear on censuses because it wasn't a house and nobody was living there.


In 1939 Ralph Hurford and family were at Eastern Town Farm.
1911 - Elizabeth Hurford, 62, and family.
1901 - Elizabeth Hurford, 52, and family.
1891 - Elizabeth Hurford, 41, and family.
1881 - Thomas Brook, 51, and family.
1871 - Thomas Brook, 32, and family
1861 - John Sleeman, 38, and family
1851 - John Sleeman, 28, and family.
1841 - Thomas Webber, 30, and household.


The house for sale is only visible on Google Maps in the aerial view. It's further along the track to the east of the village than the Google camera went.
Only part of the building is the house in question - the particulars say "This property is attached".

Hi - you could ask 'Google' - (re Meeth) I just noticed a few possible/helpful leads.

Maybe the local Council can help ...it may even have an 'Ask a Librarian' service.

Hi everyone - does anyone have any history of a small village in east devon called MEETH?
My daughter is looking into a property which has been converted to a house from an old granary, but I can’t find any info on this old granary which I think was 1800s
