The nearest birth I get is George CUTTS, baptised 22/7/1811 at Hucknall Torkard St Mary. Father is William and mother is Hannah. 2. I do not see a Mary Thorpe CUTTS with the names you have. 3. I do have a marriage for Joseph CUTTS and Sarah THORPE on 21/6/1836 at Elston All Saints. However, I don't see any baptismal records for children. 4. The nearest match I have for Sarah THORP is a baptism at Newark St. Mary on 5/10/1805 with parents John and Frances |

Hello Charles Thanks for this offer. This is a long shot but could you please look for a Thomas White in East Retford? I suspect he is the father of Ethel Margaret White, but she wasn't born till 1907. Going on living memory, some of Thomas' other children were Flo, Clara, Frank, Herbert, Molly, Jane, Aime and Mick. Sorry it's vague but this is my dad's side, that I have hardly even looked at! Thanks again. Jen |

Hi Jen Unfortunately, there are a great many Whites. Do you have a christian name for his wife or any other info so that I can narrow the search down please. |

Hi Charles Just gave my aunt a shock by phoning her for the first time ever! She says Thomas' wife was Sarah, but she didn't know the surname. Thanks for your help, much appreciated. Jen |

The nearest match that I have is: Thomas WHITE married Sarah FOSTER on 25/12/1897 at Bulwell St Mary. No guarantees that this is your couple. I don't have any matches for a birth in Est Retford around the relevant time. |

Hi Charles, Thanks for your kind offer, could you possibly look for a death for James Plant, between 1841 and 1851, he was a lacemaker. He married Sarah Holloway in 1838 Crich, Derbyshire. The 1841 census shows the family living at Basford, Nottinghamshire. By 1851 both Sarah and James were dead and there son George was living in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Thanks for your time Marlene. |

Hi Charles, The date fits perfectly and father matches the marriage cert I have for George. Does the register have any siblings of George at all? Kind Regards Matt |
