Can anyone help with how to locate a death that does not appear in the St. Catherines Index please. Dales Goodman appears on 1881/1891 census but by 1901 census has vanished. His wife and children are listed but I've searched for a death up to 1940 but can't find him. He was born in Lincoln circa 1847, married Alice Ann Bullock in Burnley 1879, and lived in Nelson, Lancashire till he vanished after 1891. I'm new to this family-tree malarky and its giving me headache. PLEASE-HELP! |

Sorry can't find his death; all I know from my Burnley/Nelson index is that he wasn't in that area in 1896. |

I can only think he was in the Boer War and that is why he's vanished, but I cannot find any records to actually prove this :/ |

To help cut down the search period, Alice Ann remarried in 1896: |

Dates for the 2 Boer Wars would suggest he did not serve then |

Can't find the death of Alice's second husband, Wallace Newton, either and she seems to have married again in 1907: |
