Welcome to the boards, Mark.

You're now in Parish Records territory, not all of whom are on line. Prior to Sep 1837 marriages don't give the father's name or anyone's occupation. It does help that witnesses might be relatives. Baptisms won't give the mothers maiden name whilst burials are unlike to be particularly informative.

Familysearch & freereg2 are good sources for transcribed PR. Online Parish Clerks (OPC) is another. Google your county or place of interest to see what is available.

You might be lucky to find early Wills available, possibly at the National Archive.

I have done a lot of research at the local library to me, their records only go back to 1837. How can i research further back than this date, i have a Marriage record dating 1832 but can not find any way of researching it.
