Cut & pasted from my answer on another site :~

Re :~ Coroners Warrant …….

Now if there was a sudden death then a Corners Inquest is held
This consists of THREE Parts.

Coroners Warrant.
This is were the Coroner sends out warrants to all the main parties
Doctor, Nurses. Midwives for medical evidence & Relative ( Informer of death) ,
Before & leading up to the death.
To be at hand on the date set for the Inquest.

Coroners Inquest.
This is were all the parties evidence is discussed on oath.

Coroners report.
This is were the Coroner makes his / her judgement on the said evidence
And passes their verdict based on that foresaid evidence.
Accidental. Suicide, Open verdict, Etc.

This was explained to me buy my solicitor friend.

Re :~ SUB-SECTION E1

This is were the E section was becoming FULL so ground close to section E was used usualy crossing section E in the other way

Good work Elaine......

It;s CANNING Street on the 1900 Census returns

Standing looking at the front door of St. Margaret's Church.
Canning Street runs down the Left hand side of the Church
Runs through to St. John's Street
Both are still there today. .....

Thanks Elaine - thats a great help. Walter Mann (jnr) born 1900 was my grandad and I know very little about him & his family.
Is there anything about the Manns in earlier census? Also, Ive no idea of his death? (my gran-his wife and my mum have both passed away a long time ago. I want to find his living relatives, but seem a slow process - any ideas?

Hi Gillian
I put a search in FreeBMD just for Fowkes in Leicester and 7 marriages came up from 1907 onwards. If you have a look you might recognise a spouse name among the results

Hi Mike

Have found 2 possible Powells of mine on the Welford road disc but on Hannah's notes (Hannah Powell Feb 1968) it says

CORONER'S WARRANT, SUB-SECTION E1

Any idea what it all means, there is a Thomas Powell with the same address (Foundry Lane ) who has sub section E1 mentioned too in his notes, he dies a year later same plot number
Elaine

UPDATE they must be my Powells as the Warris family are in the same plot so bingo! (Warris is Hannah's maiden name)

I know that my grandmother married a Walter J Mann in Leicester 2nd qtr 1927. (he is my mums dad) my mum passed in Oct 1977.
I am not sure if the Walter Mann who married Ada Rutter in 1899 and had a son- Ernest Thomas 1901- IS the same Mann who married my granma? I beleive that it probably IS & if so, what happened to his 1st marriage, did Ada die & when? Did they have any other children? Walter Mann didnt marry my Gran until 1927, but her first huband Herbert Kilby, died in 1914. any ideas? - my gran had two children after 1914 - Robert Kilby 1st qtr 1917 & Irene Kilby (later changed to Mann) in July 1922 - who was Roberts Dad?
