Maz it's no secret I compete at night when no one is about.lol.
A couple of years ago we got rid of our sons stuff, he was to cowardly to get off his high horse and get it himself so sent my sister down to get it, there was enough to fill a small van.
PS anything else of his is going in the bin.

Interesting though weren't it, I loved it another type of thing I did was soldering under a microscope because the wire was thinner than a hair and had to soldered onto 2 points smaller than pin heads, I don't have the good eyesight or the dexterity to do that now.

The ones I did were huge and I had to set them all out on a board about 7ft square. I used to sleeve them, whip them altogether, and then fit all the terminals on the ends. They used to take me hours.

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 13 Oct 2022 23:15

OOO I loved making those, some all the wire was white and we had to put numbered sleeves on them and use buzzers to make sure we put them in the right place.

LaGooner Report 13 Oct 2022 23:08

Hmmm yes :-D :-D. I worked alone taking in work from several different companies if they had a n order rush on. My biggest job was constructing wiring looms for EMI scanners they were very complicated.

ZZzzz Report 13 Oct 2022 23:04

One company I worked for in the 70s which only employed about 15 - 20 people and the owner was there full time too, when he died the son took over and tried selling it but that didn't happen and allegedly caught fire overnight and burnt to the ground, strange coincidence don't you think?

I got rid of mine years ago but he still has his. We do keep those as we are both Radio Hams and like fiddling with the equipment occasionally. I had my own electronics company back in the 70s but gave it all up and sold all the equipment
