If anyone can get Film 4 they are showing a Carry on film each day. My Oh and i have been watching one of an evening. Its good to laugh at the old jokes. I think Talking Pictures had the Wrong Box on the other day and some of the Ealing comedies have been on both this and BBC2. It was nice to relax after working all day, even if it is only upstairs.
Hope everyone is feeling better for a little rain - the gardens needed it our waterbut was empy. It threw it down yesterday and at lunchtime today.

Hello all
Cold and wet here so no gardening today but I hope to wrap up and do the prayer walk between showers.
Cynthia, Amen to your prayer for today.
Emma, I'm joining you in sending love to Vera.
Vera, grandson has the most terrible migraines so you have my sympathy. I hope they've calmed down.
Tabitha, I only have the freeview tv channels too
David, I hope that you and Ellen are looking after one another and are keeping well during lockdown.
Sending Happy Wednesday blessings to everyone.

Good morning :-)
Oh poor Vera.......it sounds as though that bad head has wiped you out you poor thing. Glad you are feeling much better though <3
Keep positive!
We need to try and keep happy and busy. Maybe watch a funny film or read an amusing book that will take our minds off current events, even if only for a short time. For those who have them, gardens are a good way of keeping busy – for those who are indoors, jigsaws and puzzles are good distractions and help to keep our minds occupied. Now is the time to rekindle interest in an existing hobby or begin a new one.
Lord, we thank you for the gift of humour in our lives. Help us to appreciate laughter and to keep busy and positive in these difficult times. Amen.

Touched by an Angel was a CBS programme it ran from 1994 to 2003 and was on ITV -
Its on the SONY channel at the moment - I know I can get it on Sky not sure about freeview etc. I am reliably informed you can also get it on NETFLICKs and AMAZON PRIME as box sets.
It was filmed in and around Salt Lake City, all the stories had a meaning, some better than others. Its a lovely quiet programme to sit and watch and sometimes ponder over.
Take care all keep safe
I just heard on the radio that Boris is now the proud father of a little boy this morning.
Some good news for a change.

Here I am Kandj. Just like that bad penny I keep turning up ;-). I had a migraine that knocked me back for a few days and I am limiting my screen time a bit as I don’t want it back now it has eased, but I have read the posts.
I hope you and Ellen are keeping well David.
Some lovely memories on here lately with songs and poems. I don’t know the programme “Touched by an Angel” Tabitha. What channel is it on please? I love the Maya Angelou poem. I see a bit more meaning there each time I read it. She is a favourite of mine.
I woke up this morning with a tune going round my head and it has been buzzing around inside my brain all day. I knew it was a hymn tune and knew it was well known. I should have been able to say what it was immediately but I just couldn’t put my finger on it. It’s been really irritating me all day and a few minutes ago it popped into my head. It was “Glorious things of Thee are spoken, Zion, city of our God”. What put that into my head? It’s not even a particular favourite of mine.
In spite of the dreadful times we are living through at the moment there is a lot to be thankful for and one of those things is modern technology. I haven’t seen my son and family since last October but we can stay in touch and we recently had a lovely long FaceTime call. He was able to show me what they had done in their garden and his middle daughter showed me how she had been decorating her bedroom. It was such a blessing to have “family time” even if it was from a distance.
Stay safe and count your blessings.

David, we hope you are well too. x
A bit chilly today......brrrr
Staying positive in these strange times.
Sometimes you hear people say ‘stop looking back, move on’. However, there are times when looking back is helpful – we can gain hope from our past experiences. Many of us have endured other unforeseen major life disrupters like 9/11, major hurricanes, or the financial meltdown of 2008. We made it through and we are stronger because of it. We will get through this, we just need to remind ourselves of our resilience on a regular basis.
Lord, we thank you for those past experiences which have given us the strength to face the future. Help us to build our future on trust in you and in your Word. Amen
Cx :-)

Hello all
Well done Cynthia, unlike you I enjoy gardening although I have to limit my time or my aches and pains aren't good.
Tabitha, I can't say that I have ever seen Touched by an Angel on tv, but it was clearly a God-incidence for you to switch on and watch this when you did.
Maya Angelou has written a beautiful poem........
Touched By An Angel
We, unaccustomed to courage exiles from delight live coiled in shells of loneliness until love leaves its high holy temple and comes into our sight to liberate us into life.
Love arrives and in its train come ecstasies old memories of pleasure ancient histories of pain. Yet if we are bold, love strikes away the chains of fear, from our souls.
We are weary from our timidity In the flush of love's light we dare be brave and suddenly we see that love costs all we are and will ever be, Yet it is only love that sets us free.
(Maya Angelou)
Wow...... how profound it that??!!

Sorry forgot to add this yesterday - Just a little thought sharing.
I had a very strange nights sleep (Saturday into Sunday morning) and woke thinking of days gone past & Sunday mornings when the family were still here.
I was in a very thoughtful frame of mind & turned on the TV for some reason just before 7am, straight into an episode of "Touched by an Angel". I always loved this show so sat & watched.. It was in 2 parts & got so engrossed was still there at 9am when OH found me in floods of tears. It evoked a lot of happy memories & how thankful I was to have seen it. I feel I was meant to see it yesterday, it was there at exactly the right time for me.
It was the last ever episode of the series - Season 9 Episode 22 Part 1 and 2 Its called "I will walk with you " I believe you can see both episodes on You Tube.
I found it so very moving & it reaffirmed my beliefs all over again - I wont say any more as it will ruin the storyline if you haven't seen it..
If anyone else remembers it , I would love to hear your thoughts. -
Looking at the 2 thoughts for the day you both placed on Sunday - It looks like the TV station had us all in mind yesterday. In these very troubled times we need thoughts like these, or shows like Touched by an Angel to show us we are all loved & cared for at al times.
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Hebrews 13:2

Good afternoon.... :-)
Sorry, I went out to the back garden and got carried away.....it does look a lot tidier now though!! :-D
Each and everyone of us is taken up with what is going on in our world at the moment. This week, we’ll look at how to stay positive during these difficult days.
Limit your intake. Just as too much sugar or salt is bad for you, so it is with bad news. It is said that for those who suffer from depression and anxiety, watching the news, especially 24-hour news, can worsen their symptoms.
Instead of watching non-stop news, choose a single news source and decide how much limited time you’ll spend with it each day. Then stick to your plan.
Lord, help us to limit our intake of bad news but to be free with the spreading of your Good News. Amen.

Hello all
Cleopas and his companion walking the road to Ammaus is well known to Christians, I like to think that Jesus is my companion as I walk around the village streets exercising prayer walking each day.
During these difficult and uncertain times, it's comforting to believe that we are never left alone.

Good morning :-)
Another Sunday - they are coming round quite quickly I find :-)
The Collect (special prayer) for today :
Almighty Father, who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples with the sight of the risen Lord: give us such knowledge of his presence with us, that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life and serve you continually in righteousness and truth; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
In the Gospel for today, we learn of the two men who were walking to Emmaus, when they were joined by a mysterious stranger!

Hello all
I love all the old songs/singers too.
A cloudy and cold start here this morning. It can only get better. More clearing overgrown ivy for me today. Lots to do, it's hard work and tiring but fills my time in
"I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." Philippians 4 v 13.
Make time for the little things that bring you joy today. Happy Saturday and stay safe everyone.
