Hello everyone
I drew the curtains this morning and the sunshine and brightness was a real surprise. Very, very welcome indeed I might add.
I began to sing a hymn which I remember from school assembly, a lot of years ago!
SUMMER SUNS ARE GLOWING
Summer suns are glowing over land and sea, happy light is flowing bountiful and free . Everything rejoices in the mellow rays, all earth's thousand voices swell the psalm of praise.
God's free mercy streameth over all the world and his banner gleameth everywhere unfurled. Broad and deep and glorious as the heaven above shines in might victorious his eternal love.
Lord, upon our blindness thy pure radiance pour for thy loving kindness make us love thee more. and when clouds are drifting dark across our sky then, the veil uplifting Father, be thou near.
We will never doubt thee thou they veil thou light light is dark without thee death with thee is bright. Light of Light! shine o'er us on our pilgrim way go thou still before us to the endless day.
Thinking of families on holiday, hoping they will feel blessed with sunshine today xx

Good morning :-)
Today looks as though, at long last, Summer has arrived.......not sure for how long though :-D
Dear God
I woke up today
I can smell the flowers
I can feel the warmth of the sun
I can see the trees blooming
I can hear the birds singing
I thank you for letting me sense you.
Amen.

Thank you Cynthia..... can you believe I actually forgot this very important event today I have just had to read up right now and remind myself of the story in Scripture.
Our citizenship is in heaven. We eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. (Philippians 3 v 20-21) New International Version.
Praying now for all who will work throughout this night, especially outdoors. xx

Good morning :-)
What lovely words to find kandj.....
Today we celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration.
This is where Jesus, Peter, James and John to a mountain to pray. On the mountain, Jesus begins to shine with bright light. Then, Moses and Elijah appear and they speak together. There is a voice from the clouds and Jesus is called ‘Son’. The Transfiguration is considered to be an important moment in Christianity- where human nature meets God with Jesus as the connecting point – the bridge between heaven and earth.
Father in heaven, whose Son Jesus Christ was wonderfully transfigured before chosen witnesses upon the holy mountain, and spoke of the exodus he would accomplish at Jerusalem: give us strength so to hear his voice and bear our cross that in the world to come we may see him as he is; who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Continuing to hold many in prayer. Cx :-)

Hello all
Have been tidying a bookcase today and have quite a few books to take to the village charity shop tomorrow. A piece of paper dropped out of a book that I haven't opened for several years and this is what I had written........
Dream more, Complain less, Listen more, Talk less, Love more Argue less, Hope more Fear less Relax more Worry less Believe more Doubt less Play more Work less.
No idea where I got these words from but gave me food for thought.
Remembering all in need of prayerful support this night. xx

I wish there was better weather for those who are on school holidays but not able to get away....... a little bit more sunshine would go a long way :-D
An Irish Prayer
May God give you... For every storm, a rainbow, For every tear, a smile, For every care, a promise, And a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, A faithful friend to share, For every sigh, a sweet song, And an answer for each prayer.
Love to all Cx :-)

Hello all
Interesting words Cynthia. Mildred Bell is a new name but similar style to HSR.
Your church family will surely be more than happy to read all your facebook news.
We have been blessed to have had our granddaughter K staying for a week. She is back home again and it's very quiet here now, we all shared a happy time together. "Children's children, are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children" Proverbs 17:6
The village streets are busy with children being on school holidays. I remember it was always a happy if tiring time keeping youngsters entertained in the Summer.
A prayer for both our grandchildren K and J and children of neighbours and friends.
Lord, watch over all children, keep them healthy and keep them safe this Summer. Thank You for the blessings of time spent with children, for laughter and for hugs. May they grow in grace through family visits, play and picnics, and new friendhips. Give strength and encouragement to all parents during the long school holidays. In Jesus name we ask. Amen.
Children are a gift of the Lord. Psalm 127: 3

Good morning :-)
For our church FB page, I am busy looking for snippets of information which are connected to the various plaques and memorials we have around the place. It's been very interesting to find out via Ancestry and googling, more about the lives of the names which have long been outlived. In the 1860's, it cost £9506 to build our church...............these days, that figure would be over £700,000. A lot of money indeed and it was mostly contributed by one family.
For today:
A New Day
The morning's here, another day, The sun is shining through, I left my worries all behind; Today, I start anew. An orchestra of tuneful birds Gives messages of cheer, The dark of night has vanished And the morning sun is here. The dew is wet with diamonds And the world has come alive, The little stems I planted, All limp; will now survive. The morning's come, the air is sweet, The sun is shining through, Yesterday has ceased to be Today, I start anew.

Hello all
The Yorkshire flags are still flying high in the village main street. A good sight to see.
Cynthia, it was good for you both to make it to church yesterday. I hope your husband continues to keep stable so you can go out and about more together.
Sad news of the sudden death of Cilla Black. Thoughts and prayers are with her family and close friends now. Remembering other families who are grieving too.
Matthew 5:4. Blessed are those who mourn, they shall be comforted.

Hello All
Thanks Cynthia, I also liked today's posting.
Today is Yorkshire Day, so join me in celebrating today for White Rose County.
In the main street of our village today there are many Yorkshire flags displayed. A white rose in the centre of a plain blue background, all look very special today. In the Community Centre there will be a Yorkshire Day celebration evening, with a brass band playing traditional Yorkshire songs for a good old sing song. after eating pie and mash or Yorkshire Pudding filled with vegetables and gravy. Sadly we won't be there... next year perhaps?? We forever live in hope.
A White Rose Quote to share with everyone on this special day.
A flower that shows us that the world is full of..... Love, Friendship, Happiness, Affection, Peace. Here I present it to you to say I Like You. Happy White Rose Day

I hope everyone had a peaceful night.....
The following made me smile ...... and think :
Jacob was a cheater, Peter had a temper, David had an affair, Noah got drunk, Jonah ran from God, Paul was a murderer, Gideon was insecure, Miriam was a gossiper, Martha was a worrier, Thomas was a doubter, Sara was impatient, Elijah was moody, Moses stuttered, Zaccheus was short, Abraham was old, and Lazarus was dead..
.. God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the CALLED!
Love to all Cx :-)

Thank you kandj <3
The sun is shining..........thank goodness for that :-D
Father, Creator of all, thank You for summer!
Thank you for the warmth of the sun and the increased daylight.
Thank You for the beauty I see all around me and for the opportunity to be outside and enjoy Your creation.
Thank You for the increased time I have to be with my friends and family, and for the more casual pace of the summer season.
Draw me closer to You this summer. Teach me how I can pray no matter where I am or what I am doing.
As I enjoy Your creation, create in me a pure heart and a hunger and a thirst for You.
Amen.
Even if not going far, I hope most folk can make it outside to relax for a while and enjoy the sunshine. Love to all Cx :-)

Lovely words again - thank you <3
The sun is actually shining this morning..........wow! Trouble is, I always want to fill the washing machine so that I can hang clothes out to dry in the fresh air :-D
For today, a Celtic prayer.......
A Familiar Stranger I saw a stranger today. I put food for him in the eating-place And drink in the drinking-place And music in the listening-place. In the Holy name of the Trinity He blessed myself and my family. And the lark said in her warble Often, often, often Goes Christ in the stranger's guise. O, oft and oft and oft, Goes Christ in the stranger's guise.
Remembering those who have asked for prayer....... Cx :-)

Hello all
Thank you for those lovely words Emma.
Cynthia, I seem to be like Martha (always a job to be done!) but do try to become more like Mary............... doesn't always work out as it should though.
Blessed is the person who is too busy to worry in the daytime, and too sleepy to worry in the night time.
Continuing to remember all in need of prayer. xxx
