Good morning :-)

It's going to be a wrench Tabitha, but I think you will have the resilience to cope with whatever comes your way. You may have to tread water for a short while but, hopefully, you will soon land on firm ground. <3

My Prayer For You

I thought of you so much today
I went to God in prayer.
To ask Him to watch over you
and show you that I care.

My prayer for you was not for rewards
ones that you can touch or feel.
But true rewards for happiness
that are so very real.

Like love and understanding
in all the things you do.
For guidance when you need it most
to see your troubles through.

I asked Him for good health for you
so your future could be bright.
And faith to accept life's challenges
with courage to do what's right.

I gave thanks to Him for granting my prayer
to bring you peace and love.
May you feel the warmth in your life
with Gods blessings from above

Thank you Cynthia - as always you say the right thing at the right time.

I have always been interested in the Pilgrim Fathers and my life seems to be taking another new turn in a new area of work.

Twenty-seven years ago I took voluntary redundancy when it was offered and left my company after 16 very happy years and spent 10 months on a training course for a new career. Just as the course was finishing a Job opened up in a big company and i started work there.

26 yeas later after a variety of roles I find myself leaving the company - i must admit I had in mind to stay there for 4 years more and retire - but that was not to be..

Sometimes our lives are not our own and I'm obviously being told to move on again..

In one way i look forward to pastures new - its the interview i don't look forward to. and looking for a new job aged 62. (well i will be next Friday - birthday meal out)

If the money was there and i didn't have a mortgage i could retire and start a university degree - which is what i would love to do, but we cant have everything we want..

So its back to searching the internet for jobs. You have always been there for me and still are.

Thank you again for saying the right thing at the right time and giving me the courage to know this is the right thing for me and I'm sure a door will open or a rainbow path will open up before me , and it will be what i need or where i'm needed to be.

Flu jabs next Saturday and booster covid jabs a week or so after so my text message said.. Never had so many jabs in one year.

Keep safe and well - Take care <3 <3 <3 <3

Dear Lord,

May Friday be a thoughtful day
When Your Spirit leads my prayer.
I trust each trouble large and small
With faith into Your care.
Let Friday always prompt my heart
To stand upon the truth.
Darkness has been overcome
The Earth belongs to You.
Amen

Good morning :-)

Certainly a new beginning is looming Tabitha and I hope and pray that you will soon find a new door to open. Hopefully, it will not take too long. Love and prayers.xx <3

On this day in 1620, one hundred Puritans boarded the ‘Mayflower’ bound for the New World. Known as the Pilgrim Fathers, they were unhappy with life in England - they viewed it as un-Godly and going from bad to worse. They believed that a new start in the New World was their only chance.

They eventually landed in New Plymouth and began to build the first house for common use. There is much more to read about these pilgrims.

As a deeply religious people, the Pilgrims undoubtedly prayed at the 1621 harvest feast. Their prayers were spontaneous, however, and the exact words not known. A typical prayer might be:

O Lord our God and heavenly Father, which of Thy unspeakable mercy towards us, hast provided meate and drinke for the nourishment of our weake bodies. Grant us peace to use them reverently, as from Thy hands, with thankful hearts: let Thy blessing rest upon these Thy good creatures, to our comfort and sustentation: and grant we humbly beseech Thee, good Lord, that as we doe hunger and thirst for this food of our bodies, so our soules may earnestly long after the food of eternal life, through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, Amen.

Hope everyone is keeping well. Sorry been so busy recently.

However all good thigns come to an end and my Contract will be out on 30 Sept and not being renewed - so its an end of a 26 year run with this company.

We were waiting to see if we could get an extension but its not to be. - so at least we know we have to look outside as not qualified for any of the internal jobs.

Thank you for all your kind thoughts earlier and I will hang on t them for my new search in the big bad world out side of a corporation giant.

As one door closes another opens and i am sure there are plans out there for me to walk a new path for the next 2 or 3 years, as it has been decreed its time to move out of my comfort zone.

I will keep in touch when i can and look in on you all.

Keep well and keep safe and if you have a spare thought to send up for me and my new adventure I would always be grateful.

As always you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Take care all. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Good morning :-)

One pair of hands formed the mountains
One pair of hands formed the sea
One pair of hands made the sun and the moon
Every bird, every flower, every tree
One pair of hands formed the valleys
The ocean, the rivers and the sand
Those hands are so strong, so when life goes wrong
Put your faith in the one pair of hands

One pair of hands, healed the sick
One pair of hands raised the dead
One pair of hands calmed the ragging storm
And thousands of people were fed
One pair of hands said I love you
And those hands were nailed to a tree
Those hands are so strong, so when life goes wrong
Put your faith into one pair of hands

Those hands are so strong, so when life goes wrong
Put your faith into one pair of hands
Put your faith into one pair of hands
One pair of hands

Good morning :-)

Father, I thank you for another day.
I don’t know what this day might bring
therefore, I put my trust in You.
Fill me with your peace,
the peace that passes all understanding.
Cause me to rest and not be stressed
as I go about my daily life.
Lord, in your mercy, hear my prayer. Amen.

The Collect set for today:

God, who in generous mercy sent the Holy Spirit
upon your Church in the burning fire of your love:
grant that your people may be fervent
in the fellowship of the gospel
that, always abiding in you,
they may be found steadfast in faith and active in service;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen

Hello all

Remembering today all who lost their lives and whose lives were changed forever by the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the USA twin towers.

He heals the wounds of every shattered heart .

Good morning :-)

Dear Lord

Quietly, we come remembering the dreadful events of twenty years ago.
We come in sadness.
We come in pain.

We come in hope,
not in ourselves, but in you.

Lord, in your mercy hear our prayer.

Good morning :-)

It's so easy to get caught up
With the trappings of wealth in this life.
Grant, O Lord, that I may be free
From greed and selfishness.
Remind me that the best things in life are free.
Love, laughter, caring and sharing. Amen.

Good morning :-)

Having to use my phone today as the telegraph pole outside has been knocked down yet again, so no Internet or landline. Fortunately no-one was hurt.

Jesus, you are always there waiting for me.
Grant that I may be still more often.
That I may always desire to spend time in Your presence.
To know Your peace, Your love. Amen.

Good morning :-)

Time for children to return to school.......

A teacher's prayer:

I want to teach my students how
To live this life on Earth.
To face it’s struggles and it’s strife
And to improve their worth.
Not just the lesson in a book
Or how the rivers flow,
But how to choose the proper path
Wherever they may go.
To understand eternal truth
And know the right from wrong,
And gather all the beauty of
A flower and a song.
For if I help the world to grow
In wisdom and in grace,
Then I shall feel that I have won
And I have filled my place.
And so I ask your guidance, God,
That I may do my part.
For character and confidence
And happiness of heart.

Hello all

Another challenging week. I have this Serenity Prayer card pinned on my kitchen notice board.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things
I cannot change.
Courage to change the things I can, and
The wisdom to know the difference.

Gentle hugs for all who are hurting today.

Good morning :-)

'
'This and That'

A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, ‘Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side.’

Very quietly, the doctor said, ‘I don’t know.’

‘You don’t know? You’re, a Christian man, and don’t know what’s on the other side?’

The doctor was holding the handle of the door. On the other side came a sound of scratching and whining.

And as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped up on him with an eager show of gladness.

Turning to the patient, the doctor said, ‘Did you notice my dog? He’s never been in this room before. He didn’t know what was inside.

He knew nothing except that his master was here. And when the door opened, he sprang in without fear.

I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing…

I know my Master is there and that is enough for me.’

Good Morning :-)

Does anyone remember the children’s hymn ‘Jesus Loves Me’?

Well, here is the senior version!

Jesus loves me, this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow
Though my sight is growing dim,
Still He bids me trust in Him.
(CHORUS)
YES, JESUS LOVES ME… YES, JESUS LOVES ME…
YES, JESUS LOVES ME, THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

Though my steps are oh, so slow,
With my hand in His I’ll go
On through life, let come what may,
He’ll be there to lead the way.
(CHORUS)

When the nights are dark and long,
In my heart He puts a song..
Telling me in words so clear,
“Have no fear, for I am near.”
(CHORUS)

When my work on earth is done,
And life’s victories have been won.
He will take me home above,
Then I’ll understand His love.
(CHORUS)

I love Jesus, does He know?
Have I ever told Him so?
Jesus loves to hear me say,
That I love Him every day.
(CHORUS)

Enjoy! :-D
