Cyprus calling, Cyprus calling Radio Jem.

Sending blue pompoms to Kandj. Have had to put all pompoms high up as we've been adopted by a puppy who wandered in.

Hope she doesn't trip me up when I'm cheerleading. She's asleep at the moment so I'll do a practise.

Left right, twirl, left right twirl. oopps All went well until next doors kitten arrived. He doesn't walk over the keyboard anymore but he curls up on me in awkward positions. :-S He's tired and is on the end of the settee. Shhhhhhhhhhhh

Left right, twirl, left right twirl. Left right, twirl, left right twirl. Left right, twirl, left right twirl. Left right, twirl, left right twirl. Left right, twirl, left right twirl.

I'm on tip toe they're both asleep.

See you all later. :-D <3

2.30 this afternoon, at Kingsholm Stadium, Gloucester....

....Scotland play their first game of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

SCOTLAND face the JAPANESE CHERRY BLOSSOMS (aka BRAVE BLOSSOMS)

Being hailed "THE GREATEST SHOCK IN RUGBY WORLD CUP HISTORY", this brave Japanese National side beat 2X CHAMPIONS SOUTH AFRICA last weekend.

Such was this unexpected turn of events, that the South African Coach felt obliged to apologise to the entire nation.

Now the Japanese, who prior to their win against The Springboks, had only ever one one World Cup Championship game- versus ZIMBABWE, are heartened by the victory, and intending to bring it on again against the Scots this afternoon.

Speaking to BBC NEWS, Tokyo Based Sports Journalist BEN MABLEY was asked...
"How has that victory been received in Japan?

"Incredible" replied Ben, "You couldn't have asked for a better start to a tournament...
...I work for the broadcaster J SPORTS- We've been doing our best to promote the tournament, but in terms of Mainstream Media the build up to the tournament has been very muted, to say the least...

...."Now all of a sudden you've got Rugby in the mainstream Terrestrial TV Channels, on Daytime TV Features... never seen rugby covered this way in Japan before!

...."The World Cup was all about seeing if they could win one game- against USA! To do it AGAINST SOUTH AFRICA...suddenly EVERYONE'S A NATIONAL HERO!"

JAPAN INSIST THAT THEY ARE NOT A “ONE-TRICK PONY!”
SO SCOTLAND BETTER BEAR THIS IN MIND AND COME OUT FIGHTING!!!!

SCOTLAND v JAPAN ... Kick-Off 2.30pm TODAY!

Live from Kingsholm Stadium Gloucester

LIVE ON ITV1; BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio 5 Live and......

The Japanese Crowds making their way to the Kingsholm Stadium are all excited! The atmosphere is electric!

They are riding high on their DAVID v GOLIATH victory against South Africa at the weekend!

They say that they are having a big welcome in Gloucester!

The Cherry Blossoms (aka Brave Blossoms) have played against Scotland 4 times before, and lost each time, so they will be hoping for a first time victory today!

Scotland will be wanting to win too, and this team has really raised their game in past months! :-)

THEIR 84th MINUTE TRY

JemimaFawr

JemimaFawr Report 23 Sep 2015 13:46

The commentator of the channel from that clip said the game was in "3 minutes of injury time"

This was incorrect of course.

You don't have "injury time" in Rugby Union games. This is because the referee stops the clock whenever there is an incident of any kind, including injury.

It was actually 4 minutes after the CLOCK WENT RED that the Janaese scored their victorious TRY.

In Rugby Union, after the clock goes red, the game is not over until the ball goes out of play.
If the team in the lead at this time get possession of the ball, they will usually kick it out, the game's over and they've won!

If the team that is not in the lead have the ball when the Clock has gone red, and they have a chance of scoring to win, they will keep hold of possession for all their might!

This is what happened in the South Africa v Japan game at the weekend!

The Lyrics to sing along when the time comes...

O FLOWER OF SCOTLAND

O flower of Scotland
When will we see your like again
That fought and died for
Your wee bit hill and glen
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again

The hills are bare now
And autumn leaves lie thick and still
O'er land that is lost now
Which those so dearly held
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again

Those days are passed now
And in the past they must remain
But we can still rise now
And be the nation again
That stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again

Usually, just the first verse and last verse are sung

I don't think we have Japanese GR Members (Unless you tell me otherwise of course!), so I will forego the words of the Japanese Anthem
