SHAUN EDWARDS TO LEAVE WALES???

Wales' Assistant Coach / Defence Coach Shaun Edwards is "Open to offers" as his contract with The WRU expires at the end of the month!

Highly respected, Shaun is a great favourite among players and fans alike.

It even remains unclear whether or not Shaun will actually be offered a new deal by the WRU amid rumours that Head Coach Warren Gatland may consider "freshening up" his backroom team.

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/wales-could-brink-losing-shaun-10318887

Born in WIGAN, Lancashire, Shaun Edwards is the son of former Warrington rugby league half-back and Hall of Fame member, Jackie Edwards.

Shaun is 49 years old and a former RUGBY LEAGUE player.
He was the only Schoolboy to Captain England at both RUGBY LEAGUE AND RUGBY UNION.

Shaun was Head Coach for LONDON WASPS, where he spent 10 successful years, before leaving them in 2011.

Shaun has been Assistant Coach for Wales Rugby Union since 2008.

RELATIONSHIP:
Shaun was in a long-term relationship with M PEOPLE singer HEATHER SMALL, with whom he has a son James.
Shaun and Heather are no longer together, but he remains close to his family.

:-D Good old Nige.

Should be ok for tomorrow. It's OH's birthday today so we're partying at a restaurant tonight. He's older than me now :-D. For just 13 days we are the same age. :-(.

Have people staying overnight and here looks like the garden has come to the patios and house. We had a thunderstorm yesterday and pup ran through the garden and left a trail of muddy marks everywhere, cleaned it up and she's just renewed it all. :-S

Sending Kandj the black pompoms for New Zealand ready for tomorrow. :-)

Looking forward to the games and of course Radio Jem. :-D :-D :-D

See you all tomorrow :-D <3

AN EXAMPLE OF OUR NIGE'S REFEREEING....

When Scotland's Full Back STUART HOGG decided to try a bit of theatrics in order to get a penalty, when Scotland were playing South Africa at St James' Park, the home of NEWCASTLE UNITED....

NIGEL TOLD HIM....

"There was nothing wrong with the tackle.

If you want to DIVE like that again, come back here in two weeks and play [when the football's on], NOT TODAY!"

"OUR NIGE" CAMPAIGN!

There is a campaign on Twitter and Facebook
for Our Nige to referee The RUGBY WORLD CUP FINAL!

Referee NIGEL OWEN, arguably the World's best Rugby Union Referee (but there's no arguing about it in Wales! ;-)) is being championed by his many fans to be considered for this honour!

South Wales Evening Post (Online)
POLL: SHOULD NIGEL OWENS REFEREE THE RUGBY WORLD CUP FINAL?

http://www.southwales-eveningpost.co.uk/Calls-Nigel-ref-rugby-final/story-28013872-detail/story.html

Nigel Owens from the GWENDRAETH VALLEY area of South West Wales, was born in Mynyddcerrig but now lives in Pontyberem.

The local newspaper of that area, the LLANELLI STAR reported:

"PETITION LAUNCHED TO GET REF TO FINAL

"A campaign to get Gwendraeth Valley's very own Nigel Owens to referee the Rugby World Cup Final is growing.

"Wales and Scotland were both knocked out of the competition at the weekend - making Nigel's chances of taking charge of the game even greater.

"The Star is backing widespread calls for the ref ....... to be given the top honour"

Comments by Star readers about Nigel Owens-

"At this moment in time he is the best and level headed ref in the world and if he doesn't ref the World Cup it will be a travesty".

" ..best most unbiased ref in the game today hands down!"

Another Star reader declared herself to be on "TEAM NIGE!"

OTHER INTERESTS:

Fluent Welsh Speaker Nigel, 44, is also a TV personality and Stand-Up comedian.

He co-hosts the rugby orientated Welsh Language (with English when necessary) Chat show "JONATHAN" on S4C (Wales' Channel 4) along with Ex-International Wales Rugby Player Jonathan Davies, and Sarra Elgan.

He also hosts his own quiz programme "Munud i Fynd" (Minute to Go).

Nigel is patron of various charities, such as "Wooden Spoon Society" (Rugby Charity) and "Bullies Out".

He has served at various times as Secretary, Chairman and President of the Wales Federation of Young Farmers Clubs.

In 2011 he was made a member of the Gorsedd of Bards

I have no hesitation in backing Nigel Owens for Referee for the Rugby World Cup Final 2015!

COME ON "OUR NIGE"... BRING IT ON! ;-) :-D :-D :-D

BACK TRACKING SLIGHTLY! :-0 :-0 :-0

It would seem that I was wrong:-0 YES WRONG! .... along with the TV Commentators (Rugby experts), Head Coaches (like Scotland's Vern Cotter) and many, many Rugby Players past and present ......

..... I HAVE JUST COME ACROSS THE RULES FOR TMO INTERVENTION!
CRAIG JOUBERT .... COULD NOT ..... ASK THE TMO FOR HELP...
... in the Australian Penalty giving incident that cost Scotland it's place in the Semi-Finals!

TMO GUIDELINES ...
.... in the wake of the Australia v Scotland RWC Fiasco........

WHAT THE RULES SAY:

THE TMO CAN BE USED ONLY IN THE FOLLOWING CIRCUMSTANCES:
(TMO - Television Match Official)

• Determining the grounding of the ball in-goal for a try or touchdown and/or whether players were in touch or touch in goal before grounding

• Determining whether a kick at goal has been successful

• Confirm if an infringement has occurred in the build-up to a try or prevention of a try (infringement must be within two phases of the try or touchdown)

• Considering acts of possible foul play

http://www.rugbyworldcup.com/news/96575

From BBC SPORT (Online)....

"After the match, Scotland coach Vern Cotter said the television match official (TMO) "would have taken away any doubt".

******* But World Rugby said Joubert was not allowed to refer the decision as regulations only permit the use of the TMO on foul play or to determine the legitimacy of tries and kicks."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/34581006

TOM FORDYCE, Chief Sports Writer, BBC SPORT
wrote in his article "Rugby World Cup 2015: Is this the death of European rugby?"

“For all the legitimate gripes about Craig Joubert's decision to award Australia that critical late penalty, Scotland lost their own line-out to create the chaos from which it came.”

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/34574740

THE PENALTY SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO AUSTRALIA
and YES, CRAIG JOUBERT DID MAKE A BAD CALL .....

.... but that is much easier to forgive than thinking he stubbornly refused to have a second opinion at the end of THAT game!

Perhaps this incident will make the "Powers That Be" in World Rugby consider REVISING THE RULES on TMO INTERVENTION!
