Afternoon all.
Its so icy on my pavement bit outside the front door, I showered it with salt and it has soon melted all the ice. Daughter went off again to town and was worried she would slip walking to the bus but she managed. no more snow here....yet looks like lots more on Friday but that is the day I'm going for my steroid jags at the hospital! So hope I get there as old jags have now worn off and the pain in my knees is dreadful again.
Take care Ann but I hope you do enjoy your lunch. Braemar was -13 Joan eek brrrrr.
Shetland have it bad and also have no power. I saw that on the power track map.
Poor man that was injured yesterday , his car fell on top of him! He was working underneath it and the jack slipped. No news about him yet.
Well the sun is out so that should melt the ice away. Still waiting on birthdays cards but don't have much hope of seeing them this side of Christmas and xmas cards are sparse. I have only received 10 so far, normally get about 50-50.
Right off to sort out some laundry and do some hoovering before lunch.
Hope everyone ok

We didn't have any more snow after Sunday thankfully but of course the temperature has remained below freezing so side roads are still lethal. I don't think out bins will be collected today but we have been told to put them out. Tomorrow I am supposed to be going out for lunch, I am hoping the lady who is driving will be able to do so. Poor restaurants don't want any more cancellations they have suffered enough. :-(

I hope you are all keeping safe. We don’t have any snow, but it is bitterly cold. My son in Worcestershire has had quite a lot of snow, the girls are very jealous. It is worrying because my daughter has a very long circular drive to take the school every morning and it is so icy. I actually got two parcels from Royal Mail today. I still have two more with Royal Mail, another one which was supposed to have been delivered by the local courier to a local shop today, but wasn’t. Plus the Evri one which has been out for delivery with the local courier for over a week now. There is no chance that one will ever turn up.

Afternoon folks. We had a light dusting of snow but a heavy frost so its crisp everywhere.
The scene opposite me was so pretty, like a postcard.
Fairly quiet morning until it was interrupted just now by the loud sound of the helicopter. It flew right over my house and I could see the pilot. It circled twice then landed on grassland not far away.
Probably someone fell and given the roads are icy and its quite a journey to the hospital, the helicopter was much quicker. Just hope they are ok.
Daughter coming back today and it will be good to speak to another human being as not spoken to a soul since last week!
Hope everyone ok and if you have had snow, take care and keep warm

I have lots of outstanding parcels, one is supposed to be coming today, but we shall see. There is still no sign of the Evri/ Hermes one, I doubt I will ever see that one. I can claim the money back on the 13 th. Most of the other missing parcels are with the post office, so hopefully will turn up at some stage. I have a next day delivery with DPD, but they say that they are one day late. Last night my neighbours had been out and were walking back home at 10.20pm. They saw a delivery van turning round outside their house and then saw a parcel just left on their doorstep in full view of the road. That was Yodel and the parcel was for us not them. If they hadn’t been out, it would have just been there all night in minus six temperature.

Linda
Amazon are also using the Post Office!!!!!!!!!
As we hadn’t had any post we waited until after the date we could claim a non delivery and our parcel arrived with about 7 or 8 days post a couple of days later.

Afternoon all Its very overcast and dark with sleety showers. Yesterday evening, i got a fright when I heard a loud clap of thunder! I'm on my own as daughter away and admit, it scared me a lot.
However it passed over fairly quickly. My postie has brought me 2 cards today that were late birthday cards so that was lovely and my dads parcel but still no sign of Sil's birthday card card!
Tesco order just came so everything that I wanted came which is good including my fav cashew nuts mmmn. I shall enjoy those nibblys later on.
That aside, its very quiet here and haven't spoken to anyone or seen anyone since daughter left on Thursday. Tesco man was dead quiet and out the door in 3 minutes. Took some crumpets out the freezer which made some space so gonna have 3 for lunch and not sure about teatime today.
Hope everyone ok and keeping warm

Last night's Masterchef was on Tuesday instead of Granite City, so for some unknown reason they did a swap!!
I have been looking at Radio Times on line, as it tends to be up to date, and so far hasn't let me down - as long as the football doesn't run into extra time. :-(

Brr, it is freezing outside. It actually started to snow this afternoon, but stopped after a couple of minutes. I have been trying to order the bulk of my Xmas presents on line, mainly from Amazon as they tend to get here. I ordered the presents for the girls from my sister to come directly here and she transferred the money to my bank. I will wrap them for her, so she doesn’t have to post them up. One of them arrived the next day and the other one is supposed to come by 8pm tonight. When I looked to see where it was my heart sank because it turns out it is an Amazon small company using Hermes. It was collected by Hermes on Monday, but since then there are no updates. It is not out for delivery. It will be in the massive mountain of parcels at the Leeds depot, so it will never be seen again. Why any company chooses to us Hermes, I have no idea.

Florence as long as they have not changed it M Chef should be on 8pm tonight. Charlie is good but (is it Nikita) I like the female as well. Goodness knows what happened with last nights but I think we had already seen that one. Something to do with the football I think.

Afternoon all Well that's me home alone until next Tuesday as daughter elsewhere for a few days.
She got on ok but will have to wait a few weeks now for the results as they never tell anything at these scans.
I've tidied up etc and now feel a little at a loss as nothing much to do. I don't make my xmas cake until 3 days before xmas so too early to do that. Postie came with 1 birthday card sent 10 days ago 1st class and no sign of any others yet! Think I shall sort out my pan cupboard as it looks a bit crowded lol and also I could reorganise the freezer as although daughter filled it up, everything is crammed and I think with some reorganisation, there would be more room!.
Ann, is the Masterchef final on tonight as I thought it was last night? I want Charlie to win, who do you think will win?
Hope you are not snowed in Joan as some snow gates in Aberdeenshire are closed.
Linda, hope you and hubby are feeling a lot better.
I heard from my sil, a child in nephews class(P2) has Strep A, such a worry now.
Keep warm and stay safe

Well there was me thinking, a nice quiet day, not much to do and then chill as daughter away until soon. However, that plan didn't quite work as the printer had other ideas. I needed to scan and print something but when I clicked on the desktop printer avatar, it said, not connected!! I checked all the wires and connections as you do but still wouldn't work.
I spent the next 2 hours trying everything from rebooting, different wires as had spares. In the end I had to uninstall the programme then re run the disk to reinstall it, wait 15 minutes, restart and hey presto!!
Shes 1/2 hour away so oven on and pizza and chips tonight yummy.
Crikey, talk about testing ones patience and I am a very patient person bus this certainly vexed me.
No idea why this happened, just one of those things and lucky i had all day to sort it!
Found me festive robin for me avatar until the new year, isnt he sweet.

Good morning. I was up at 5.30 am today and now feel I need a sleep lol. Daughter was going on plane for a hospital appointment in Glasgow so had to make sure she was up for the taxi collecting her.
She's landed, so off to the hospital in another taxi. She broke her thumb when she fell in the severe storms last January and broke her thumb but didn't realise it at the time. So getting an MRI to see if an operation can reset it as its still sore and hurts to bend her thumb.
She will be home about 5pm so I'm free all day although, I was wrapping the last of my son's gifts at 7am today!!
It was sleety rain just now and is baltic as they say up here outside.
Hope everyone else is keeping warm and safe.

You are so organised Florence!
OH managed to get up today, just as well as we forgot that we had to deliver library books this afternoon’s. I have caught his dreadful cold as well, so I went out with a mask on and threw the books at the old people from a distance.
I had to go supermarket shopping this morning as we were out of so many things, I could have done without that

Oh, my I have been a busy bee today!
Pre xmas spring clean etc. Stripped beds, did 3 loads of washing including tablecloths and then dried and ironed it all! . I'm sitting now as legs and knees are sore and I burnt myself on the iron!!
My school collegue/friend came with a gift last night and a huge bunch of flowers which were beautiful. That was a lovely surpise :-D
Its forecasting some snow here tomorrow but think the highlands including you Joan will get it and we shall only get a dusting.
Just written the final xmas food list as lots now in the freezer so quite organised. Just got 2 dozen crumpets that daughter bought all reduced to eat up as no room left in freezer lol. So, crumpets for breakfast, dinner & tea for a couple of days but they are my favourite with marmite or marmalade.
Don't want any huge dinners now until xmas day and hopefully will lose a few more pounds, that way, we can have a huge blow out haha.
Hope everyone else keeping warm as its def winter now
