As far as the actual repairing went, he never seemed to do any of it himself. He just seemed to walk about and take credit when the people returned for their item for work he hadn’t actually done. I remember watching a programme where he and another chap made items or recycled things. The end results were rubbish, so compared with the other crafts people in the show, I don think he will be missed.

I wonder if the BBC will show any of the back episodes he was in. It will be a shame for the other experts if they don’t get their royalties

I agree. Will seems to have taken over Jay's role, but back at the very beginning, before the BBC decided that Jay was the "boss", the people arriving were greeted by the relevant expert, and I think it was a better system. Jay was just one of the regular experts.

I think we've got to know the craftsmen and women so well over the weeks that the programme works well regardless of whether or not Jay is there.

I suppose he is so much a part of it

Just watched it and it did seem wrong without Jay Blades in it.
