Hi Brenda,Dorothy,Sylviaand everyone else that looks in.
Boy ,have i been busy this last week, getting ready for two family members and bairns decending on use for Friday night,Satuday and Sunday.Got the rooms aired Fridayand then got cracking ,planning Saturdays meals for 11 people.
sunday i roasted two large chickens, with veggie trivets underneath, roast potatoes ,mixed with parsnips and peppers, stuffing, mashed potato, sausage and bacon wraps.cabbage and calabrese, all with chicken gravy.
I used two of the christmas puddings not used at the festive season, and tea of all bits and pieces left over frrom christmas,so,we now have a freezer upstairs ,half empty [wahey].
Had a good day today as well, getting all the shrubs ,bushes and plants pruned in the back garden, and all the rubbish put in the bin for tomorrows bin collection.
Hope you had a nice day for your holiday Dorothy, and hope it's to be each year.

I don't think it was Hissy upsetting the mouse Sylvia, she is a house cat and never goes out.that is of course unless she is sitting at the window sticking her tongue out lol.
I think she may have had a go at the computer mouse though grrrrr,he he ,the scrollwheel stopped working yesterday ,so i think a trip to netto is in order.
Lets hope the operation goes ahead this time Brendsa,so that you are back to your usual self as soon as possible.
We are in for a cold night again i see ,minus 7 is forcast, cor,am i glad the heater was fixed, wouldn't fancy a night like this with no heat over night.
This new heater is great, the heater is set to come on overnight if the temperature drops to 50 f.and our last gas bill ,last week shows us already in credit, some payback will be welcome in November, handy for the christmas shopping lol.
Not much else to report exept for a very unusual sky tonight as it started to get dark,a most unusual shade of red,a bit spooky lol.
Be back later .Fred.

Hi ,not sleeping again tonight, too many things on my mind, the car still isn't fixed and no word about the new parts yet either.gettinga bit worried about having the op,not had one before.apart from little gyne one years ago.
Had our new time sheets for week beginning 3/3 and we did not think they could put so many what appear to be stupid shifts in one week.
We are sssupposed to be having a new library next year and was thinking of staying on after I am sixty and doing reduced hours may 7 or 10 per week or a day and a half day ,but was told today the new library will be open each day of the week and the staff will be doing more lates thats til 8pm and working more Sundays. So I will have to do a rethink ,it all comes down to money .
Work was really cold and I only got warm when I went to bed.Fell asleep for about an hour then woke up and could not get back alseep.Came on here to see who had been on and found freds delicous message and Dorothys comfy message as well.
See you tomorrow as I might as well do some searching while i am here.brenda

Dorothy Report 19 Feb 2008 14:15

hi goodmorning brenda I am sorry that you are having a rough time sleeping, the op will go well but I understand the worries you are having about it, talk to your doctor about it and see if he can calm you down, though anne is always telling me that the way your doc's treat you is different from over here, for example I am always telling her to ask for a complete blood count as her sugar count was higher than mine and I am the diabetic, but she always tells me you can't do that over here, I just make an appt. and then tell him what I want within reason if I am not feeling well, maybe it is because I was a nurse and am aware of how the system works. as for the library schedule I used to do the schedule for the dept I worked in, it can be a nightmare but we had to work within union guidelines but a fair schedule makes for a happy staff, I always found that some people liked later hours if it worked with the families hope that you can resolve the issue, I have to agree freds menu's are always worth waiting for. to-day I am again going to have a lazy day still trying to get rid of this cold, and guess what it is snowing again can hardly see out of the window. bye for now dorothy

Don't worry about the op' Brenda, they know what they are doing, and this op' is as easy to perform now ,as taking a tooth out is for a dentist.
My triple bypass was an everyday op when i had it done, twenty people had it done the same day ,in the hospital i was in ,and every one of those peeps made a full recovery.
Get it done lass, recover ,and THEN worry about work, not 'tother way round.
Fred.

Hi all,
I have wonderful news at last. After suffering for more than a year with cystitis my urologist told me that my last sample of urine was clear of infection. He said he was finished with me. I said oh no I want a euro dynamisch examination to see if I actually can empty my bladder in one attempt, etc.etc.
My cardioogist has just phoned me to say that my heart valve hasn't deteriorated a lot this last year, so he is quite happy to leave things as they are - so am I!
All I want now is for my doctor to tell me that I am growing blonde curls and I'll be over the moon. Well, any colour hair will do!
It has been another very cold day here today, but then it is only February. I cannot wait for the real sunshine.
Have a nice evening everybody.
Good like to you Brenda on your forthcoming operation. Do you know it is almost a year now since I had my bowel operation for cancer - it was 8th March last year. You see, I am still living it up!

Hi all,
Yes, I am still walking on air and cannot believe it.
Johan has gone to the library in town and to the hospital for himself this time.
My daughter came round so it was nice to have a chinwag with her on my own.
My hairdresser also came so it was nice she could meet up with my daughter Janet again as it was Janet who first introduced me to this hairdresser.
Now enjoy yourselves.

Hi Everyone,Miserable .cold and grey here again. But it is dry ,so thats something.
Been and bought a new duvet today ,went to a shopping outlet up towards Oldham that Johns golfing partner told him about. It looks a right dump from outside but the stuff they sell is really good and the prices are really reasonable as well.
We got a kingsiz duvet winter weight ,duck down and a cotton cover for less than £30.00 ,the cheapest i had seen else where was £49.00.So that was good.
Glad yoy are still feeling good Sylvia and your visist from your daughter and hairdresser went well.
I will make I note of those books Dorothy and see if we have them at work.I have looked at the magazine we have at work about new books and ordered some new books but i am way down on the list.!!
Take care ,Brenda

Dorothy Report 22 Feb 2008 14:09

goodmorning well brenda you had a good time shopping that was a good price on the duvet, I remember going to dinner in oldham years ago it was a place that looked like two cottages made into one and was full of brass and tobey jugs and good food mind you my son was 5 and is now 42. last night I went on line and checked out prices to england on charter flights not that I can really afford another trip but just to see what was available I do not usually travel charter but the thought of spring in england and the thought of all this snow just made feel I would like to run away and what better place to run too but bury lancs at least for me. I do have to go out to-day the boys are low on cat food but it is snowing and blowing so it will be a quick trip, I hope the car starts I have not moved it since last saturday. take care and have a good week-end everyone bye dorothy

Well had a few drops of rain today but the frost has now completely cleared.
I went to the market today, more or less for my neighbour as she has knocked her leg and has also an invalid husband to look after. She needed quite a lot of things. When I got to the market I suddenly felt sick and giddy, and I thought "what now". I have been feeling so well for a few days and now this, why??????????
Anyway I managed to get home and Johan took the shopping upstairs to the neighbour. I have done nothing this afternoon nor have I eaten anything. I hope this bug has gone by tomorrow.
Have a nice evening everyone.

Afternoon everyone, well the rain came as it was promised so now its wet and miserable.
The car is now "fixed" but is due its MOT in the week I go into hospital ,so i need to get it done the week before as the road tax is due at the end of March as well and i need it to be done to tax it.
Had a headache again today but think thats due to John driving back in front of me and not turning left when he should have done.!!! I have no idea what way he came back, he just said it was the sceniec route.all one way streets and cul de sacs.!!!
have replied to all my emails and wasgoing to check out some details for my 2nd cousins on our ancesters, but will have to take a headache tablet and come back tonight,Take care,Brenda

Dorothy Report 23 Feb 2008 14:26

goodmorning would you believe the sun is shining and the snow on the ground looks quite pretty going out to the shops this morning to get something to chew on while I watch the oscars to-morrow I do enjoy the show, the grandchildren are out ski-ing to-day it will be a good day for them, I have been sorting through some family history on my fathers mothers side trying to get it in order, then had a look at my birth mothers family but all that is in scotland so some ups and downs with that. while my sister was here we had a brief chat about the adoption with it coming to light so late in both our lives she really does not like to talk about it, as she says I am all she has and I have tried to explain to her she is my sister wether or not we share blood, sometimes I wish that it had never come to light but then what can you do. I must say the sight of the sun to-day has given me quite a lift sorry if I have been maoning on about the weather in the weeks past but it does get you down, even the thought of another storm predicted for next tuesday is not going to spoil the day, I picked up 7 books at the library yesterday and just recieved a call 5 more are in so I will swing by there while I am out have a great day bye dorothy
