Brenda Report 24 Feb 2008 00:27

just aline to move us up a little.Work was ok until the last half hour when we had trouble with some tearaways they had bullied a couple of nice young lads and then stolen some money from them ,we said we would call the police if they did not give it back and they made a run out of the fire exit.We now have to do an incident report and see what the police can do.which is usually not much,we do have CCTV now which might help ,but I did feel a bit threatend when they all got up and charged out.
Was feeling ok til then, but its things like that which make me want to stop work now .!!

Morning peoples,it's turning out to be a nice morning here again, mild sunny ,but a liitle coudy over to the north ,threaening rain later.
If i were you Brenda,if it's a smallish library with no security guard ,,i would want to be in a bigger branch where there is ,or pack it in.
No job is worth the risk of assault specially at your time of life, surely your local council have jobs inside the local offices where there is a safer environment for you to work in?
Seems spring is on the way in Canada too Dorothy,Edith reckons the snows over her way are menting at last, and i am glad for her, irt's been a long winter over in her part of the world, but i don't envy her when the bears wake up,i would be wanting my son along as i walked in the country with his hunting gun, just in case, old Fred can't run away anymore .
Probably just as well ,because i know bears can run a lot faster than humans any day.
I will be going out into the garden shortly to try my tyattie barrels ,the potatoes should be of a good size now,and i fancy a jacket tattie for tea.with any luck ,we won't have to buy tatties for a good few weeks.
Liz was a bit upset at her birdhouse being trashed by the storm last week, but iv'e had a look at it ,and think it can be repaired, and ,as to the fence panel that got blown out and smashed,i think i can get a half panel to fill the gap, which is 600mm wide.
It does belong [the fence] to Joan next door, but she has enough on her plate at the moment with having to pay for a big skip to clear her ,back garden out,and get her two grandsons to help shift the rubbish because her three big strapping sons are too bone idle to do it for her.
Any normal family with close family ties would have done for her ,more so since she has lost her husband.
Three sons ,with very very good jobs ,and wages, have left her to struggle to pay her morgage instead of getting their heads together and paying it off so that she can relax ,and work her basic week, instead of jhaving to work all hours to make enmds meet, what has happened to the younger generation these days.
People slag of the indian nation, the muslems, and chinese peoples, but they still honour their parents ,and look after them in their later life, yes ,indeed ,us europeans can learn lessons from the immigrants.
Fred and Liz are popping down to Lincolnshire [louth, and alford on mothering Sunday,to put some flowers on mums grave in Huttoft ,just down the road, after which we will drop in to see Maralyns husband jerry,to see how he is keeping.
I wanted to deliver the flowers this year in person, mal' and jerry used to see to it,but since losing sis',i thought that i could pay them both a visit in person,a lot better and will put my mind at rest
It will be nice to visit Alford again too,to hell with the diet for the day,i wan't some genuine lincolnshire sausages for dinner, and a well earned Lardy cake, which we can't get up north.
Hope everyone is getting on okay, take it eqasy and enjoy your Sunday, and you Brenda,at least the tearaways are back at school,so it hopefully be more peaceful at work for you .
Don't forget everybody,10months to Christmas eve lol[evil chuckle ]Fred.

Hi all,
I thought I was early but Fred and Brenda have beaten me to it.
Yes, Brenda, Fred is right, can't you get a bit better job, less risky. You want to be able to enjoy your pension when you get to retiring age.
Fred, how come you have so much energy?
I've just made a chicken curry so have time to make some cards. Have a nice Sunday everybody.

goodness brenda I do hope that you are allright what an experience, it is a sad morning over here my friend isobelle has just called in tears her beagle dog rankin who was diagnosed with a form of cancer about 2 months ago has taken a turn for the worse her son is coming over to take him to the vet to be put too sleep he is quite young only about 6, but it is in the mouth and throat. I offered to drive down as it is clear to-day and the roads are ok but she asked me to wait until next week-end and come and stay for a few days, because fred it is still not spring here in the ski area a new storm is brewing for tuesday though they say toronto will get hit harder than us 15-20cm for them and about 10 for us, as I look out the piles at the end of the driveways are topping 7feet high but the sun is shining. fred I hope that you enjoy your trip away that is it for me to-day I feel so bad rankin was a lovely dog and a good watch dog for isobelle she has a large house and lives alone, the one cat had been acting funny the last two days animals do sense things don't they bye dorothy

Hello everyone ,thank you all for being so concerned about me .Its becoming part and parcel of the job in a lot of places I am afraid there are a number of libraries that have security guards on them when open ,not when closed!!.
I have completed the incident form and will just see what happens. We used to get three staff here but it was cut to two ,due to cuts in budgets.!!
As I am at work and its not my offical tea break I am not supposed to be here..Speak to you later,Brenda

Dorothy Report 27 Feb 2008 14:34

goodmorning well brenda I have just finished reading the english papers re the earthquake I am glad to hear that you are all allright it must have been rather upsetting seeing that it happened when most people were asleep just tried to call anne but she must be out no answer, to-day we have a great clear day no snow but minus 30 temperatures so I will not be venturing out too cold for me, my friend isobelle who had to put her dog to sleep is coming up for the week-end her son will drive her up saturday and pick her up monday after he finishes work. it will be great to have the company she would like a quick visit to the casino we are 20 dollar gamblers so we never stay long (thats about 10 pounds) but it is a bit of fun, my sister arrived back in calgary but is not well she said that she shivered all the way home on the plane , her husband left the car at the airport for her as he was on his way to san francisco but as she was entering the underground parking at her condo she feels tht she blacked out and hit one of the concrete pillars with the side of the jeep, I think that she has a very bad cold or flue so she is in bed her step daughter picked up the dog for her from the kennels quite a return well I am off to do some laundry bye for now dorothy

Hi all,Fred has been a little busy, but is now back indoors and eager to get a few minutes on here before having tea[jacket tattie] with a little salmon.
Sorry to hear that you were woken by the quake ,Brenda, with my luck i missed it all [blast] but i think bro' in law Jerry will have got a hell of a shock,he lives in Skidbrooke lincolnshire ,no more than twenty miles from the epicentre.
Me ? i had had a lousy evening and couldn't settle ,so i was still on tjhe puter at eleven last night, but,at last i was tired ,wen't to bed and went out like a light.,needless to say,i slept through it all ,lol.
We were meant to go shopping this afternoon, went into Netto to find the tomatos' on offer at 6 pence a tray and us fresh out of soup in the freezer.
Liz bought six trays ,so ,whose goin' to be making soup tomorrow morning he he.
I will be going down to see Jerry this weekend ,to take flowers to mums grave for mothers day and her birthday combines,so i will be able to look around Louth.Alford ,and Mablethorpe ,and see if i can find my dinner of lincolnshire sausages and mash, and ,if i'm lucky ,a lardy cake for tea..
I must remember to take the camera and take some piccies of his bungalow and smallholding,'cause i don't know when i can get down again.
If this weather keeps up ,i will be able to start on the garden very shortly, starting with the hedges.
.Smells as though my tattie is ready,so i will say good evening to all and go and get it out of the mic, this new one is great ,does a tattie in twenty minutes, and nice and brown on the outside ,and nice and soft inside ,lolcouldn't go back to an ordinary mic to save my life,it does a nice 2 pound loaf as well ,in half the time of a conventional oven, just the job.
See ya later peeps ,take care.Fred.

Sorry to hear about your freinds pets Dorothy,Hissy has been with us nearly a year now ,and both Liz and i would be devestated if we were to lose her,it must be much, much worse to lose two in as many weeks,my heart goes out to her.
I had to go down the sons this afternoon after getting a call saying ,dad ,the computer won't work,it froze as i loaded in Picasa and i can't even turn it off ,to which i replied ,well, pull the plug out twit.
I got down there booted up ,and then the fun started,i took two weeks of internet files out ,two weeks of cookies, deleted about ten programmes that are no longer used, and removed a lovely necklace of icons from all round the puter screen.
I then did a puter defragg as i turned it on ,and went into the bios to look around, and found one duff graphics cardwhch was working but only just ,and i think the memory may have been trying to compensate, slowing the computer even more.
The memory card is only half a gig anyway,so i turns too the son and said ,well ,that's it lad,now you are going to HAVE to put your hand in your pocket,
I can get you another memory card,a gig will do,and will cost about £20,and a new [g force graphics card, which will cost £ 25 -to £30 which should put it right, and the card should let you use it as a platform to play kids games but NOT to play the latest games that is a job for a card costing upwards of £200 or more.
I got home a few minutes ago and totally forgot the cat coming straight on here ,mistake big time, she Hissy is sitting at the window ignoring me so i think i had better go and get her a couple of treats ,this poor poor pussy ,so badly treated he he .
Catch you all later.Fred.

Hi all,had a good time at the central library, learnt a few things I did noy know before, but came home with a headahce trying to rememberit all.
I have had the frozen treatment from the other cats that we have had,but i think because we got Oscar and Alfie together as they are from the same litter they don't seem to mind when we are away.Mind you the dog,Max does!!!
Going to do some reading now I have a book I need to finsh within the next week and take back to work, before my sick leave starts.

badger Report 3 Mar 2008 09:37

Morning everyone ,fred is back, and full of go .
We have a little clearing up to do in the garden this morning before going to the docs for our tablets.
We need the clearing up done first because the bins get emptied tomorrow morning ,and there is snow due.
I have heard that it reached lanc's this morning ,so it will be on it's way here now.
Had a good time down home but didn't get a slice of lardy cake, but did get a nice piece of bread pudding with a cuppa ,in The Coffee Pot ,.a little place off the high street in louth, very reasonably priced too.
Found some nice flowers for mum too ,and dropped them off at the churchyard ,in Huttoft before going through to mal and jerrys, where we stayed the night.
Jerry has put mal's ashes in the field [theirs] outside the lounge window ,where she used to sit for hours watching her wildlife, and is where jerry is going to put the little garden he has planned, and has promised to put the rose that i took down in the middle.
I sat there in her chair for an hour watching the resident pheasant strutting his stuff in front of the females.and saw her tits and finches feeding alongside the bungalow,it's no wonder she loved the place so much.
I decided to make a run for home instead of going to Hemswell first, the pictures were so big ,i had to put the seats of the car down to get them in which had them in plain view.
The frames themselves are 150 years old built of paper machie, and covered in gold leaf,so i didn't fancy leaving them in plain view at a bootsale, don't know if they are worth a terrible lot ,but i couldn't replace them and hadn't yet taken piccies ,just in case of damage.
Nearly didn't get them at all, jerry was thrown out of bed by the earthquake and now has a sore bum lol,the bungalow shook badly, and all the pictures and ornaments were knocked off the wall and shelves,if it wern't for the fact that Jerry had already taken them down and stored them, they wouldn't be here now.
Frames of that age do not take kindly to dropping five feet to a concrete floor.
Must go now ,and get on with the work, see ya later peeps,Fred.
