Hi Laurie - or should that also now read Your Royal Highness, all this royalty on the thread. Am starting to feel as if I should be tarted up in all my finery before I even get around to posting here. Glad you enjoyed the movie 'The Devil wears Prada', my dtr and I are planning on seeing that perhaps this week. She has read the book so I am wondering if she will enjoy the movie as much. Yes wasn't I just the lucky one not only being able to see the tiara but touch it too. Trifley didn't even demand that I wear my white gloves before I handled it. She was most amused with the beaded giraffe I gave her, as now each time you mention all your giraffes at Port Botany, she'll have her own to look at!! Yes Lew I had a great time in Qld - of course not long enough, but was able to not only catch up with HRH Trifley but also my NZ friends that I met in Bondi when I first came to Oz all of 36 yrs ago today. They came across from Auckland and we both rented apts at Broadbeach. However we spent much of our time visiting friends, going out into the hinterland etc and only actually saw the beach one morning when I went for a long walk. Got caught in a huge storm whilst on our way up to visit Hinze Dam and my poor friend thought the car was going to slide off the mountain road, meanwhile Jessica and I sat in the back literally rolling around in laughter - not very considerate are we?. There was hail, lashing rain, wind and mist all combined to make for something out of a comedy skit!!! Couldn't see an inch in front of us and I felt as if I should get out and walk in front waving a red flag (or red undies) and carrying a miners lamp! So back to the real world tomorrow ie: work, but no doubt after a couple of hours there I should feel as if I have never been away! Catch you all later Lyn |

Afternoon Wattlers Well it is the best of days here today lovely and warm with just a slight spring breeze. Went for a walk to the shops this morning and for first time since winter I wore my thongs ................. the ones for my feet !!!! not the other ones, I think they would be far too uncomfortable pmsl, and jeans and tshirt, next step is getting out my peddal pushers ..... oh if they arent too big now I lost the weight, better go and check :-) Havent done much else today apart from pottering around here doing a couple of little things that hadnt been done from when we moved. Its really feeling like home now. Had my Mum, Dad, and Nan visit yesterday and Nan liked the house, said it looked a lot better even on the outside from the old one. Also a lot easier to keep clean, not half as much dust. Well I am going to go and have a coffee out in my back yard on swinging seat and enjoy the nice spring day for a while before girls get home from school. ~~~~~ to all~~~~~~ Cheers Sue |

Afternoon Wattlers Lovely day on the Bay - too nice to do anything except enjoy! The Ray taxi has taken Glen and Narelle to Taronga Park Zoo (Really cute - Glen wanted to go to the place where I brought him his Gorilla named Taronga - he was 4 when he got it) and the taxi is currently delivering Amanda to her hotel in the city. The movie gets thumbs up . . . Meryl was sooo good - loved how she played the part . . . Lots of laughs. Then we went 'clubbing' - again lots of laughs - all those young things thinking they invented night life !!! Amanda is a star pupil, fully indoctrinated into the art of Martooni. Good to see you back Lyn, you are so blessed to have had a personal viewing of the tiara! Back to reality for me . . . someone has spilled something sticky on the kitchen floor and I cant ignore it any more so will get into it before the boss returns. Catch up with you all later luv Laurie |

Jude - get your priorities right - the shops of course! I asked my cuz in the US to record on cd the B Walters interview with Terri Irwin - her b-i-l messed up (typical) - recorded the wrong channel. She sent me part of an address which she said I could view the video for free. .. I managed to find the site, and details of the interview, but no video. .. Msgd cuz and said I couldnt find it - she said 'I didn't know either' grrrrrrrrrrr I've asked another friend (who is NOT American, but spent some time there recently) - if I can get the video up and running does anyone else want to know what site its on? My choice of work today is ironing, folding up clothes, vaccuuming, tidy up papers or being on the pc. .. I guess the ironing is first choice, with a rest on the pc every 10 minutes (for my back, of course!!!!!!!!) Errrr - Jude - you said Laurie went to a disco??????????? <I thought they were going to the movies to see Meryl Streep> Jood |

Welcome back home Lyn, good to see you. .. Glad you enjoyed your talk with Trifley - I knew you would. Anna, I was up at 6.00am as usual - no after effects. .. I wasn't under the weather. .. But I sure put weight on after indulging in a big bag of tater chips whilst watching both the footy games. .. Damn!!! Much cooler here in the mountains today - few clouds around, bit of blue sky, but the sun forgot to rise. .. Not a breath of wind, either. Have a great day all. Jood |

Morning all Wattlers, back to reality after a few days up in Qld. It was wonderful to catch up with Trifley last Tuesday. We chatted so long the shopping centre had virtually closed around us!! Luckily the guy in the coffee shop just cleaned up around us and allowed us to carry on chatting!! It was great to view the royal tiara up close and Trifley even had it stored in an old ice cream container. I think Graeme had retrieved it from the bank vault that afternoon!! Hope you are all well - I have tried to catch up with the past weeks news on this thread, but heavens above you have waffled on for 20 pages plus since I went away!! Shaz - you not been well again? Pulled muscle??? I hope you haven't been exercising again!! Fanny hasn't been getting you to do that aquaerobics that you love so much!! lol Enjoy your day everyone, especially those of you lucky enough to have a public hol. OK had best fly as suitcase still needs unpacking as too pooped to do it last night when I got in. Lyn |
