lol...Lew. I'm jest de-prest coz there is no more footy...:>(((( Ya know, its amazing our Ozzie pioneer index's. They are so full of mis-transcribed, bad spelling, and errors. No wonder many peeps cant find there relo's. Just been helping a Lady trying to find the birth of her G.G.Grandma. She sent me a marriage cert.Elizabeth mary READDING widow lately GRIEVES.who married a SMITH..One Witness was a James GREAVES....but wasnt sure if her G.G was born a READDING or GRIEVES/GREAVES....but was born 1852 ( according to marriage cert.in N.S.W ( and thats only if she wasnt telling porky's about her age ) Found the 2nd marriage Elizabeth mary READDING to a SMITH so knowing she was a Widow when marrying...this could be 1st marriage Surname or birth Surname depending on what surname she used when marrying, as many women reverted back to there maiden name sometimes, to a 2nd marriage.... But.... also, in some cases many family members were witnesses to a Kin marriage...... hence James GREAVES. So now we look for a marriage GRIEVES/GREAVES to a READDING.( cant find ).....and then find Elizabeth mary GRIEVE to REDDING. Now we have a reasonable surname. ( first marriage ) So we find a birth. Elizabeth mary GRIEVE b.1852 ...N.S.W and a possible sibling of Elizabeth's......James GRIEVE........( hence marriage cert witness James GREAVES......phew......lol So we got: READDING REDDING GREAVES GRIEVES GRIEVE Dont ya love Family History.....lol..........i do. hello wattlers. its a fabulous day, even better now the tourist crowd is starting to die off. we close the front door to it so the doggies don't run in and out barking at motor bikes, other pooches and small boys. had my head in the 'puter most of the morning with a break for a walk and to make chocolate patty cakes. a bit of social interaction with the boys + girlfriend - thats about it. i can't wait to see the boat and the baby. i would be absolutely tickled if 3 firies where to turn muy mattress. Poss. will be playing dressing up if he read this. love Yvette x |

I was serious Anna .. :( .. When I grew up and AFL was played, the teams were called by their town - and because I dont follow League football, I don't know which team the Bronco's (well I do, Brisbane) - is that right .. oops? and now you say Storm, that's Sydney - .... I'm guessing now - the eels are Parramatta, Penrith Panthers (coz I live near there) - there are Bulldogs and one team has a chook (rooster) - oh there's St George I remember (they must be lions, but I dont think so). Won't say any more coz you'll all laugh at me .. lol <creeps in with an embarrassed look - St George Dragons - now where did I get lions from .. pmsl> Mel where are you???????? .. I finished off the other half of the King Island Dairy Creme dessert chocolate - ohhhhhhhhhhhh to die for. .. Finished it off with my fingers, to get in all the nooks and crannies. .. Can't wait to buy some more - its exquisite. .. How do you hide it in the fridge away from the family, or do you have another fridge in the laundry?? Lovely out in the sun, it's made me sleepy, sooooooooooo ..... what does a girl do? .. Have a nanna nap. .. Right Trifley? Jood |

Afternoon all :) had a lovely morning gardening after early church and now I am exhausted!!! But I have finally got all the weeds out of half the garden and I think I have killed most of the aphids - used water and detergent and it works very well. John has been working away on the boat and is up to the last sand and polish then the bottom is finished and he can turn it over and start on the inside!! Will send a piccy when it is all polished :) I'll send a pickle of Ella soon too! ~~~~~~~~~~ Vonny |

Morning all Well it's just morning - will be midday very very soon Hopes ya feeling better today Trifles.((((((huuuuuuugs))))) SuzyQ - glad Neville is feeleing a bit better. My Chris is an asthmatic and it's no fun. Chris is on a strict preventative regime so maybe Neville's doctor will get him started on something similar. Jood - I don't believe you....you're having us on!!!!! Just in case you are fair dinkum - The Broncos are from Queensland - go the Broncos - and the Storm is from Melbourne. Guess who I am backing??? And they are playing rugby league - the greatest game of all......and they're playing tonight in Sydney. We won't go into the politics of that. Better luck in Wottlo Lotlo next week. See you all later Anna |

Good morning Waffling Wattlers . . . Another glorious day on the Bay . . . the sun has warmed the world up on this first day of October - there are lots of little boats out, people swimming, sailing, skiing, sialboards, jetskis, fishing . . . people everywhere. There are 8 giraffes with heads held hight this morning, so things must be slower on the docks. I have sent Ray out with the kids to do some sightseeing and I am cooking up a roast, they had a late breaky so I figure if I feed them to the hilt at about 2pm, then they wont be starving at the game tonight, can get themselves something light to eat on the way out there. (Made the wine trifle already!) I have decided I have missed out big time . . . girls help !! Then again it is probably my own fault for always wanting to do things for the boys, they are both very domesticated - I think it is just that girls see stuff that has to be done and the guys have to be guided. Whatever, I am really enjoying having two girls around this weekend. Amanda and I are going into the city when the others go off to the game, more shopping, then were going to see Meryl Streep too. Amanda is booked into a hotel from today till Thursday night, so I will most likely spend the night in there with her save coming home after our planned big night out. Lew, I mostly brought at the Mikasa sale, did heaps of Crystal Chrissy shopping - did buy me more Martooni glasses to match other glasses I have - gorgeous squared off look. But both the girls went mad at the Events Factory outlet - Amanda had to have suits for work, she used to work for Bucks up in Brissie (very casual), now the new firm is International and she will be travelling heaps. I got me a handbag - but I haven't disclosed that one yet! Joodles . . . I wouldn't be mortified to have 3 hunky fires turn my matress . . in fact anyone is welcome to do that job for me anyday! If anyone can design a bed that flips the mattress for you when you flick a switch - I would buy one straight away! Suzy, hope Neville is better today, asthma is such a terrible thing to live with - in fact anything that effects your breathing is. We just do it without thinking about it (breathing that is) and you dont think about how precious it is untill you have to watch someone you love struggling with it. Just dont give him any of Dr Crews little storm coloured pills . . . . . Try my Bronco Elixir !!!! Paul had such a terrible time as a wee lad with asthma, sat by his bed shooing the angels away many a time. Poor Glen spent the first two years of his life strapped into his pram in hospital corridors while we sat with Paul. Poor little things lungs just used to collapse and he was on life support so often. Now look at him the great strapping lad that he is - probably why he is such a fitness fanatic! (and probably why mummsy is such a mother hen). Glad the cheese and kisses had a good birfdy Tony! Ray & I used to bowl ages ago too, talking about it last night and we have decided we will give it a go next 'idle' day we have too. Always lots of fun. Anyway back to the galley for this here slave so will catch up with you all later . . . Enjoy your Sunday - Every day tastes better with a smile! cheers luv Laurie |

Morning,Morning.......:>))) Nice day in Mulbin. Very Springy ( so to speak ) We went Ten Pin Bowling last night at Forest Hill's, and stopped at a local restaurant for tea before we bowled. We'd forgotten how enjoyable it was to go Bowling, and at one instance Barb was lining up to take a shot......ran down to the foul line.....swung back to have her shot.......and the Ball slipped off her fingers and rolled backwards towards the seats.( KER-BANG ) I shouldn't laugh....BUT,couldn't help meself....LOL But a good night overall. Thought we both would be sore in the legs this morning, but only a slight twinge. Mary. A few threads back you was asking about a Holiday in Queensland, and if Barb new any good deals. We are booking into the DIAMOND SANDS at Broadbeach, Gold Coast for March next year. We are shouting Sarah ( youngest daughter ) and two of my eldest girls, and two grandkids.Accomodation for the 5 of us plus two grandkids was $888 for 5 nights in a self contained 3 bedroom apartment. We have been there before a few times with our kids, as it is ground floor and safer. Dont like high rise with grandkids, as they like to explore balcony's, if you know what i mean. Commiserations about the Footy, mate. ( Sydney Swans )...but the Eagles jumped at the opening bounce, and from then on in it was catch up footy for the Swans. Well we didnt crack it for Lotto last night, but wasnt our turn for a winner i guess. Best wishes to all the sickies. Must go and mow the lawns and nature strip, as the Pigmy's cant find there huts....lol Av a good un. Tony Oz....:>))) GO THE STORM....hee hee |

Happy October Wattlers. Tassie I envy you your day light saving. Not allowed here in Queensland because it fades the curtains, makes the cows give milk at the wrong time and the kids don't sleep. Its probably the one thing I miss about England. The lovely long summer nights. And guess what, as kids we went to sleep, just pulled on the curtains. No choice really, plus the extra playing out time made us extra tired. Move over Nefer. Has anyone seen the new NRL calender. Nude Rugby players, what more could a girl want. Had to get Neville to hospital last night, he was having difficulty breahing and getting a bit worried. He must have felt really bad, he was the one who asked to go. The doctor thinks he is having a bad asthma attack. They put him on a nebuliser for a while, but it didn't seem to make much difference. Anyway, they sent him home with some Prednisolone tablets and some ventoline. He had 2 of the tablets before we left the hospital and this morning he felt much better. Then he took some ventoline, too much I think, and went dizzy and shaky. Seems a bit better now. 2 more tablets tonight, and then his own doc in the morning. What happend to the little china mans predictions? Maybe there wasn't a big enough win for us this week. If at first you don't succeed then try try and try again. I have just made another contact in Australia with my family history. She has heaps of info on the one's who came to Australia around 1850 so that will keep me busy for a while. Well, must go and think about some lunch. We had a very earlier and light breakfast and now my tummy is starting to growl. Hope all the housework is done, all the sickies are feeling better, all football games are won by your favourites AND GO THE BRONCOS. Luv SuzyQ |

Good Morning Wattlers and a Happy October to you all. Another gorgeous day in Mudgee. I see more swimming ahead. Now, Trifles. Get Nefer to give you a gentle all over body massage to relax you. He'll need to use a lovely papaya oil and the brothers could give you a manicure and pedicure. Now, doesn't the sound of that make you feel better??? Mmmmmm, sounds pretty darned good to me, lol How was sleeping in the 'new' room, Flakey? Did you sell anything, Tassie? When did the family eventually arrive, Many? Did you manage to stay await? Happy shopping, Laurie. What did you buy??? Sounds like the daughter's having a fantastic time in Japan, Heather. What an experience! Keep you eyes out Wattlers for a new peep, Roz from Winmalee. Have been helping her with her research and have suggested she pop in. Well, I'm off to get another cuppa, so I'll check back later. Love to you all Lew Lew xxx PS Go the Storm! |
