We have to get up early and hide any little mousies we catch overnight as Katherine is distraught if she sees one dead in a trap. We don't get many around here though. When my brother and I were kids living on a farm, we used to get mouse plagues and we would race around the farm like mad things with the dogs and cats jumping on any bits of tin, wood etc that were lying around the place as there would be literally dozens of mice under them. Then we would pick up the tin and the dogs and cats would chase the mice all over the place with the dogs barking, the cats screeching and my brother and I yelling blue murder. It was an absolute circus!!! Ah - thems was the days! I'm afraid we had no affection for the mice as they were such a nuisance eating the grain in the barn etc. :>))) Anna

Afternoon Wattlers Been a Qld perfect day here today and no threat of the storms we are supposed to be getting again today. How was your day Jood, cool or warm and did you dress appropiately. Vonny, your daughter reminds me of a neighbour over the back when she had her third bub. Left home for hospital at about 4.30 am (20 min trip), rang another neighbour about 7 and asked her if she wanted to come over for a cuppa. Yep, been to hospital (just made it), had babe and come home again. She was a nurse and said there was no way she was staying in hospital.........Not my cuppa tea. Flakey, did you get away early today ? Queenie, hope you are still walking regally and not stumbling after too many martinoonies. Yea have another one !!! LOL Did ya get the winning lotto ticket......... Cilla, hope the news is good tomorrow. Me......... I don't like meeces and I have a dumb cat who just sits and watches them run. Glad it is you getting up at that time Sandra and not me. Not a morning person, never have been......... Lew hope the foot is improving and that all those who are unwell are on the road to recovery. Went to hydrotherapy this afternoon and now feel nice and relaxed. A chardy will go down quite well now I think. Catch you later ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to all Pam

Mary, yes I've been over for some more Nanna cuddles - she really is a cutie. 2 ozs heavier than her sister but shorter and her head is smaller (daughter was REALLY grateful for the smaller head!!!) LOL No - she wasn't in private just public, but it is called Calvary Hospital and is run by the Nuns - or it used to be. It's quite nice. Jude3 - I stayed in a week with my 4th. No way I was going home before I had to:) The trouble with fast - besides the physical damage - is that your brain just isn't in gear. I think 3 or 4 hours is a nice time span :) I'm going to try and have an early night tonight cause I am meant to be teaching tomorrow. Hope all our sickies get good results from the various scans. ~~~~~~~~~Vonny

hi, not going into any detail re my day, but i'm home finally and teas on. we have large amount of sympathy for widdle mouses. they are soooo cute!! they are like weeds, just growing in the wrong place. we have a humane mouse trap. a little cage with a hole in the top that they can't get back out of. when we catch them, we take them down the harbour in all the lovely trees and flowers. leave them some grain and fruit and let them go. we get the occasional rat in the wood pile and compost heap too, but the dogs or cat deal with them very swiftly. Still makes me sad tho, cause the juveniles are pretty. used to get black snakes but our paddock was transformed into a car park. love Yvette xxxx

Well Mary - I didn't kill any meeses, tho I do have a few around the place which have died (pc ones that is, tee hee). .. I don't even have any meese stories to tell - I really don't wanna know about it .. but when I was a kid, and used to fish off Mandurah Traffic Bridge (which Jude and Raggedy & Lyn probably drove over, I thought nothing of going to the bait shop and getting live prawns and putting them on the hook - could even gut fish in those days, but not now .. ugh! <I was a bit of a tomboy - like Jude3 is now, climbing roofs .. pmsl> Anyway Mary - I just went to a sub committee meeting today and pigged out on all the delicacies the other ladies brought. .. My own offering was sausage rolls, but I couldn't eat too many of them .. the ladies are really great cooks. .. These committee meetings are my downfall - put on too much weight .. lol So that was my day .. I had to have a nanna nap from eating too much good food .. needless to say I am not hungry now. Jood

Arvo Wafflers..:>))) Beeeuwdiful day in Mulbin Looks like eveyones into mouse smacking......lol In th 70s we lived in Bayswater, and one day the Mrs rang me at work to tell me there was a mouse caught up in the Gas Heater, and she was petrified and wanted me to come home to kill it. ( i worked in the City back then.... 45 min train trip away) ...so i said to her, turn the gas heating on and cook it, then stick some of those little chefs hats on its feet and we'll have it with spuds and vegies for tea when i get home...lol Live field mice make great river fishing bait, and iv'e caught a few nice trout with e'm. Ya just put the hook up through there.......nah.......ya probably dont really wanna know....hee hee Lew. Agree with you mate, dont kill the black snakes. There has never been a notable report of a death from a Black, and normally they take off if there disturbed.... but the eastern Brown....now there's a bad little bloke, and causes more deaths in Oz than any other snake. Gwenda . Sounds like your having a great holiday mate. Jude DIY. Just buy more tickets mate, as the more we have the better chance we got, and thats what we agreed to do when we started Lotto. Leave it up to you,( which draw ) seeing your on a winning streak.....but I'm happy to go along with everyone else. Best wishes to all and there soul mates who are not the best. Well.......its that time of the day again, and i must have me tablet ( VB ) to keep my fluids up.........:>))))) Av a good un. We next for a new grandchild, and daughter number 3 is due in 5 weeks. AAhhh you crazy lot..Mice stories..now .. a few weeks before we moved out of our house we found we had a mouse.. So setting the traps we eventually caught it .. Thinking that was all I found out it had a mate..so started setting the traps again..4 weeks before we sold the house I still hadnt caught it so the new people inherited it with the house..They had a cat so I will say it would have been caught by now as it would have been to fat to run fast enough to outwit the cat as it had been well fed with the cheese I kept putting in the traps and it kept eating without getting caught. To date no mice here thank goodness.. Judy YV Put it all back.. what could we do with that little amount..It wont get Tony a plasma so put it back..we might get 5 or 6 numbers next time... Sandra Hope you got a good alarm clock.. what an ungodly hour to get up... SusyQ Hope OH is feeling a lot better.. Vonny Have you had another cuddle...oohh you are lucky... Jood Whatcha do today... Off to do some more FH Back later Love maryxxxx

Ah Cilla - pmsl -poor mousie.Hate them little blighters. Had one in the pantry and it ate dry 2 min noodles it was so fat it couldn't run. I rang Ken (who was at work) and said what will I do? He said get the cat and chuck in in the pantry - well the cat wasn't impressed - it busted out of the doorquick smart - I don't think he liked the look of the 'michellin mouse'. Well I ended up trapping it under a bucket while I looked for something heavy to clobber it. Ding - the rolling pin! - so I wrapped the rolling pin in cling film (lots of it - I didn't want no germs transmitted) lifted the bucket and smacked it. I was so devastated I had killed it, that I rang Ken and was so incoherent sobbing he wondered what was going on - I was shaking like a leaf. I just put the bucket back over the top of it so Ken could remove it when he got home. He and the kids kept telling me I was a murderer- lol. Jim should have used the rolling pin! - could have saved a Chiro bill. jude 3

Jude - I have a vague idea Wilson was off camping somewhere, remember? Gwenda, I went to Arlington Cemetery and the changing of the guard - very impressive. One of the things I really wanted to do was see a baseball game, more than anything else - I did see one - some 7yo kids playing (they kept running to their mommy's at the fence all the time lol) - some game! Hi again It's 9.25 pm in DC - beautiful day it's been here. We leave tomorrow night and there is so much to see and do but we aren't going to have the time to do it all - guess that means we will be back - 2008 is looking promising as the Smithsonian Museum of American History will reopen in summer 2008 - it's being totally refurbished so is closed at present. Took the Trolley tour today and did the orange and green loops. The orange loop takes you all round the city and the green takes you out into the burbs and around the National Cathedral and out near the Zoo. After a bite of lunch we hopped on the orange loop again and this time got off out at Arlington Cemetery. Saw part of the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and then walked back to see JFK's memorial and then Bobby Kennedy's. We've just eaten at the Elephant & Castle so are a bit full - big plate full of salad and green beans and in between I had another dish full of shepherds pie - definitely wasn't going to attempt dessert after my experience in Ottawa. Have some Hershey's choccie anyway to keep me going if I'm peckish - don't know if all this exercise is doing anything for my figure as we aren't slouching on the food - lol We got to a baseball game in Toronto - Toronto Blue Jays v Boston Red Sox - my team won on the Friday night but lost the next two games - at least the locals would have been happy. If we had known we could have gone the first night we arrived and Dayna could have seen her NY Yankees in action. Can't believe it is nearly all over - we have another bus trip back to NY tomorrow night and then fly out to LA Friday morning. Saturday night we fly home. Wattie is behaving and has had lots of adventures along the way too - have lots of piccies to share when we get home. Have a great day everyone - all those not up to par hope you are feeling better soon. Love & ~~~~~~~~ to all Gwenda xx
