Good Morning Wattlers Well things are starting to get back to noemal around here. David is at work today, not sure what the 5 kids and myself will do today, maybe a walk around the Heritage Forest, just down the road from here. We have a cool but sunny day today. Tomorrow my girls go back to school and on Wednesday David's 3 go back home to Vic. Still waiting for broadband grr at least we are not getting charged while they get it up and running, typical story of left hand not knowing what right hand is doing :-( Laurie I omitted to reply to your post about Sols doing a cartoon of your Dad, he is a very talented man and I was surprised at all the mail he receives from fans of Snake, telling him to let up on the character and give him a break lol. Lew glad you didnt suffer too much damage. Hopefully the wind have all gone out to sea by now. ~~~~ to all Cheers Sue |

Morning Wattlers, sunny and only a light breeze today thank heaven. Lots to do today. Wash all the water soaked towels, vac up plasterdust from the whole house and clean bathrooms. Be at the hairdressers by 1. Drop the bedroom drapes into the drycleaners and then prune the creapers off the side fence that blew down yesterday. I like my creapers but if they are still there when OH sees the fallen fence he will prune for me,...not a good idea,he prunes to ground level...lol Have a good day, back later Flakey |

Yes, Laurie, terrible trouble at the Abattoirs. Went into liquidation and all the workers lost their jobs. I'm not sure that they all got their entitlements either. Fletcher International has brought the Abs now and will be re-opening in about 2008, but only for export beef kills. The olive trees have taken a pounding, but the shiraz cuttings are okay. They're a bit later than the white wines and haven't 'bud burst' yet. The Courier Mail is right. Mudgee is truly not recognised for its fantastic wine and food. Yesterday, we went to one of the local olive places and brought some brilliant oil. I also couldn't help myself and had to buy a bottle of the garlic and lime mayonaisse, yummmmmmmmmmmm. Perhaps those coming to the Mudgee Meet might like to talk to me about doing a Bus Tour to 2 or 3 of our best wineries, one of the olive places and then lunch at Deebs, my favourite Lebanese restaurant. I think the bus would cost us about $30 to $40 per head and lunch about $25 to $30. Expressions of interest please. Seeya Lew Lew xxx |

Morning Wafflers, hope all are havin' a wonderful Monday !! A glorious sun drenched day on Botany Bay. Only one little giraffe with its head in the sky, lots of shipping movement during the night and again this morning. A commpletely different picture to that of yesterday afternoon, no sign of the wind, dust and dirt - and the beach is looking all fresh and clean. Two little piggys in this place did little except keep the kitchen clean on the weekend, so the pigpen needs a spruce up today - nothing a few trips to the bin with the weekend papers and a few laps on the vac wont fix! I have visitors arriving today, and then a constant stream until next Tuesday. Have to go buy one of those fold up beds today, can put the kids all on the floor - but not the oldies! Oh yes and the plumber is due back any minute to finish his job on the shower . . . not to mention that the reno job on the foyer should be back in full swing this morning. . . teeheee . . . planning a slow day (not!!). Lew, glad no great damage out your way. How did the Olives and grapes fare ?? Was the abbatoir out there not in the news recently with some industrial trubs . . . Lara has just been telling me about a story in the Courier Mail (Qld) about Mudgee being underated for what it has to offer in the area of food & wine!! Well, one can only hope that the Queen is generous and shares . . . . . teeeheeee !! Best get orfa 'ere and get on with the dreaded - catch you all later luv Laurie |

Good Morning Wattlers and thankfully the wind has died down, but not before causing some damage. Luckily, the only damage here was the steel lid on the pool equipment cover which blew open and has actually warped. We had to tie it down. The fire at the Abattoirs is still going. Apparently it was started with a lightning strike and the hay shed (full of hay) is still on fire. The brigade has been on site all night, poor buggers. Just watching Sky News UK and the fires are even getting coverage over there. Now, onto more pleasant things. Firstly, Joan, I hope you have a wonderful birthday. I can't wait to meet you in February. O Trifley Great One. Sorry to hear about the rats tail, but I think you must have picked the wrong colours, lol. And Princess Laurie, I somehow don't think our Queen is going to share EVERYTHING with you, lol By the sounds of it, we might have to have a martoonie party in Mudgee, pmsl. I'm off to have some breakfast and try to work out how to get all of the wood chips out of the pool!!!!! Lew Lew xxxxxxxx |

eh??? Would someone please help Mary find her way to the bedroom. Flucky - I didnt have any Rawleighs, but I know wotcha meant. .. I ended up putting on some scratch'n bite liquid application, and now after my shower, its settled down - it has been starting to drive me mad. Mary the lambs fry'n bacon was to die for. .. They do it beautifully on a bed of potato, and what I can't eat, they put in a little box for me (they do that for everyone, coz their meals are sooooo big). The sticky date pud was artistically arranged wiffa storberry and some orange slices arranged on the side, and cream trickling over the sauce. .. Even the coffee was lovely. Says Jood happily munching on some cheesy type biscuits, coz the packet said they should have been eaten by 2 September - so I am doing what I'm told. Jood |

Oooh Jood. Sound like my OHs type of diet, not mine. If you have any Rawleighs, use 'medicated ointment' on the bite or else 'man or beast'. Not a seller of the product but it is good - (my Mum has sold the stuff for more than 30 yrs, but I won't admit to her it is a good product). Stubborn daughter.......... Wonder why my son has a prob Luv Ducky. |
