Morning All, Nice poem SuzyQ, I really feel for his wife and children. Ahhhh Tassie another woody drinker, now i feel really at home lol. Not planning on doing too much today, eldest daughter and grandson have just left, dropped in for a very quick visit. Her oh needed to help his father this morning, we are so lucky that his parents live fairly close to us. It means that when ever they visit them we usually get a look in too, and visa versa. Might do some baking this afternoon, some of the guys from work are coming tomorrow for what we call a cwa meeting....everyone has to cook something scrummy and NO bought goods allowed. Lots of work talk and general debriefing goes on, for me this time, it will be a build up to returning to work. Although i have to admit i am having trouble finding any enthusiasm at this stage lol. Jood sorry for dragging my feet, but i didn't know you were making a list. I am high stepping now and you should find something in your email soon lol. Have a great day everyone, welcome to the niceeeeeest site Mel, hope you get as much enjoyment as the rest of us do. Take Care Wilson

Hi Again, I think our little mascot is weaving his magic. Stayed out longer than expected yesterday ended up at a friends house. I agree with you Anna, nothing much to chose from in the elections. A friend of mine doesn't vote at all. She goes along, gets her name crossed off and then puts the blank form in the box. Wonder what would happen if we all did that. Maybe they would get the message. Trifley, don't get into pollitics. Most go in with good intentions but they either end up out or conforming to party rules. I can see you being another Pauline, ( not implying that you have her views although maybe she got it partly right. Some of her ideas have now been adopted )). Not much happening today. It's a bit overcast and rain is forecast, but it is warm. Can ayone give me the addy of the new site, I didn't save it and now I can't find it. I would like to keep in there just in case. I don't think we should just use them as a convenience. Well, hope you all have a nice day Look in later Luv SuzyQ

Hi Wattlers, Thought I would share this with you, I think it is lovely THE CROCODILES ARE CRYING Endless visions fill my head – this man – as large as life And instantly my heart mourns for his angels and his wife Because the way I see Steve Irwin – just put everything aside It comes back to his family – it comes back to his pride His animals inclusive – Crikey – light the place with love! Shine his star with everything he fought to rise above The crazy-man of Khaki from the day he left the pouch Living out his dream and in that classic ‘Stevo’ crouch Exploding forth with character and redefining cheek It’s one thing to be honoured as a champion unique It’s one thing to have microphones and spotlight cameras shoved It’s another to be taken in and genuinely loved But that was where he had it right – I guess he always knew From his fathers’ modest reptile park and then Australia Zoo We cringed at times and shook our heads – but true to natures call There was something very Irwin in the make up of us all Yes the more I care to think of it – the more he had it right If you’re going to make a difference – make it big and make it bright! Yes - he was a lunatic! Yes - he went head first! But he made the world feel happy with his energetic burst A world so large and loyal that it’s hard to comprehend I doubt we truly count the warmth until life meets an end To count it now I say a prayer with words of inspiration May the spotlight shine forever on his dream for conservation …My daughter broke the news to me – my six year old in tears It was like she’d just turned old enough to show her honest fears I tried to make some sense of it but whilst her Dad was trying His little girl explained it best…she said “The crocodiles are crying” Their best mate’s up in heaven now – the crocs up there are smiling! And as sure as flowers, poems and cards and memories are piling As sure as we’ll continue with the trademarks of his spiel Of all the tributes worthy – he was rough…but he was real As sure as ‘Crikey!’ fills the sky I think we’ll miss ya Steve…goodbye RUPERT McCALL 2006

Morning Wattlers from a cold and windy Mudgee. Just returned home from last night's dinner, lol. We decided to do some wine tasting, so we stayed the night in town with friends. Not worth the risk of driving, even thought I felt that I could have. I see that Wattie has come through again, this time with $25.60. Add this to the remainder of last week's winnings and we have $50.55. Next week the jackpot is $22M. For $50.10 we could get three Megapicks (30 lines in each). What do you all think? Wattie has left me in charge of placing his Lotto whilst he is tripping around OS. ~~~waves to all the Wattlers~~~ Lew Lew xxx

Morning all, Hi Raggy Bear, .. Rockingham is just the loveliest place. .. My cousin has a two storey house overlooking the beach. .. We used to go to Rockingham for Sunday School picnics, the swimming area was just great for little kids. .. (Memories of ice creams, water melon and ginger beer spring to mind) .. And of course sunsets are very special at any beach along the West Aussie coast. .. A must do every time I go back to Perth - go to a restaurant on the beach just prior to sunset. The sun is trying to come out - it's a bit breezy, but dry. .. No idea what sort of day will eventuate, but I will assume my washing will dry. I've started to keep a record of our winnings as from Wattie - unfortunately I don't recall what Vonny & I won previously. Have a great day all. Jood

yepedy yep, i'm still up. had a squiz at the 'whole yard' and a look over 'next doors fence' kiddies are watching a mushy movie, possum won't be back until 2.30 and the doggies only want to go out when they need a pee. I am totally jealous I prefer a warmer climate. It takes maximum distraction to negotiate winter for me. Thats why I like working at the pool so much, its always warm there and i get to wear minimal clothing. Haven't got to the shower yet, but have the dressing gown on over my clothes. its a real fashion statement!! Love Yvette x

Mary, you're welcome to come :) I'll know better by end of October the time line. Will be a while yet. Yvette, I feel very constrained and that is mad as I only ever post acceptably - well, mostly :) just a few slips now and again :) I was just reading a thread a few moments ago and now it has disappeared! Oh well night all :) Vonny

Shaz - As I am tied up with court next Thursday, I could only make it on Wednesday or Friday and I see that Laurie is not available on Wednesday. I might be abe to get half day next Fri. That way I could get out to Mulgoa with you lovely ladies. Jood - Yes we have the Q size bed too and I even bought one of those Venus and Mars doonas with extra warmth on the girlie side. But still need another 2 doonas as you have to remember I am now in the coldest house in the whole of Oz. We joke that it would probably pay us to put our bed out in the middle of the rear lawn. It has to warmer out there than in our bedroom. Trifley - do I hear you talking egyptian cotton and thread counts? I love nice sheets, more threads the better I say! Gosh we seem to all be talking bedding, fires, warmth tonight, must be the result of all this cold wet weather in and around Sydney. Just watching Parkinson interviewing Paul Anka - he (paul) looks like he's had a few face lifts, that face is way too tight for an oldie! Must fly as I am supposed to be researching shares for my share club meeting tomorrow morning. Lyn

I wont even look at the message boards - I had a peek and saw that some of them are still carrying on - so I was outa there. Vonny I just thought statistically wise it might have been a good idea to keep a check of date and who and how much we had won - just as a matter of interest ................... and I thought the boat was almost in the water after the last plank :( I'm for bed Jood

Good evening all lovely wattlers. I've had a lazy day, courtesy of rotten weather. Heaps of rain has fallen down here, the rain gauge has 'bolted?' Watched the last 2 Dr Who episodes. Thought i might go to the club and watch Possum play again, but changed my mind in favour of dressing gown, slippies and blanket. Do you all feel a lttle reserved, or is it just me who feels that way? sleep tight dear friends, lots of love from Yvette

Evening all, very nice evening with cousin and her hubby I see that Wattie is after my crown of most Wattle wins on Lotto :) Now we are even. Jood, I didn't keep a check on how much money. The first win was $28.50 I think and the second one was $21 and some cents, maybe 30c I don't think we can start up our own bank yet!!! Hi Mary and Lyn, we used to have the doona fight in our household but menopause cured me, and now I fling it off over his side LOL Well, the last plank is FINISHED :) Just the gunwhale to rivet and then comes the filling and sanding and staining the new boards and coating with everdure and umteen coats of varnish and THEN he can turn the boat over and restore the inside!!!!!!! Bout December or January I recon it might get in the water. ~~~~~~~~~to all. Vonny I am keeping the weekender option open cause the Success board hasn't been/isn't a pretty place and things might go pear-shaped again next Monday morning :(
