GranOfOzRubySlippers Report 25 Feb 2010 11:52

Ann officially Autumn in five days. The past week the temperature has dropped dramaticly for us, nights are cool at about 16 c. May sound strange but much nicer than in the 20's and easier to sleep as well. So cats think it is time to start living inside again. Day time temps are 22-30 and pleasant. It is usually hot till late March.

The chickens have been moulting for a couple of weeks, usually do not start till mid or late March. They do look funny though, not even the roosters have tail feathers and still trying to make out they are a big deal and strutting around, just so comical. One rooster I had used to drop every feather on his body in a couple of days, every year, now that was odd. Had to make sure he had plenty of shade as he used to get sunburnt.

Tried to put feet up, but started to throb, so trying to walk around. Ginger cat has been put outside. She usually just curls up on a chair and goes to sleep, today she has just wanted to follow me around and I suppose it is not her fault, but need to blame somebody.

Oh dear Gail, poor you. tell the cats it is still summer!!!

Mrs Tiggywinkle was a hedgehog I think created by Beatrix Potter.

GranOfOzRubySlippers Report 25 Feb 2010 11:09

Now who is Mr Tiggywinkle?

OH ended up with an infection where he had the mole cut out. He had to get some waterproof dressings to wear to work, well they gave him some with silver for quicker healing, normally good, turns out he was severely allergic. Visit to the doc and stitches out early due to infection. Upside is the mole was okay, doc said luckily it was removed early as was on the turn. No further treatment as doc got it all.

Downside, CATS, they have now decided they want to live inside, why so early I have no idea, maybe a cold winter coming. The blasted things keep getting under my feet and I just tripped over my long hair ginger female. I now have a very sore foot and heard a crack, do not think broken as able to limp on it. Woke my self up this morning by slamming the other foot on the wooden part at the end of the bed, must have been running in my sleep. So two sore feet now, so going to put my feet up and go to bed before anything else happens.

love and hugs

Well,we must all be full of the joys of Spring at the moment.I found this thread on page five.
We are not doing too badly at the moment.I have seen no more sign of the builder since the skip was taken away.Didn't want a wet room anyway!

The old man is into washing in a big way now and we have to have a clean strip every day just to make sure he has some to do.Alright,so we can't afford to eat and pay for the electricity for him to run the tumble dryer daily but who needs food anyway.
He was coughing last night a bit and it sounded a bit like a hedgehog barking. Is he turning into Mr Tiggywinkle I ask myself.

Quick visit,
Hi to Caz, been thinking of you love and will ring when I can.
Barbra, you have done your best, short of turning up on the doorstep there isn't a lot more you can do to get your brother to speak with you. You could try writing a letter saying you have this feeling something is wrong and you don't want to continue being estranged, and ask if you could visit, if it is near enough for you to do so, or if he would talk with you on the phone. Tell him you miss him, remind him of some childhood things that you enjoyed together or something like that, and leave him to digest things. He does have a lot to think of at the mo but the more seeds you sow in his mind the more likely things are to be resolved, I think.
Don't let it drag you down tho, you have done what you can.

To all of you here, take care, have a good day - time for bed now o.h. is getting up!
love

And I am miserable because I am a miserable old trout on a good day.

Good on you for making the move Barbra.Give it time, bridge building takes a lot of skill and effort and it sounds like he has a lot to think about at the moment.

Barbara I am so sorry for you, please don't think you can't post 'because we all have problems', we are here for you anytime you need us (the rest of us anyway).
My problem is different and drains me and makes me feel sick all the time, I just want to withdraw quietly, but all the other friends are always here. Don't ever be alone.

It seems as if you have done all you can Barbra, also sounds as if he is unforgiving and stubborn. Does he have family who could perhaps put in a word for you. If not, just maybe send one more card, an Easter card perhaps and say you are there when he is ready to talk.

Warm bestest wishes to Maximary from downunder.
Sharron, a bottle of gin sounds good. Not really, the comedown after a glass of grog or ten is very depressing. Good luck with it any how.

Nobody delete a post please, on some threads when a post has been deleted the whole thread has gone. They are doing some sort of housekeeping, if you look at the messages etc icons they now have drop down menus.

Think of you as well Caz, take care.

I think a bottle of gin would be put to better use in my case Ann but thank you for the thought and I am thinking of the others who have problems and not just bits of frustration.

You see,I did not choose this builder, the disabled facilities organization did and I think that if he couldn't even get the proper permission for siting the skip in the beginning, what else has he overlooked?
