Sorry about this but I may be bleating a bit this week. It is not 8.30 Monday yet and already the catheter is by-passing like Niagra bloody Falls and the skip is being delivered and the man doesn't know where to put it.No,he has driven away,it has been cancelled.

Yep,it is going to be a mighty fine week and no mistake.

I am not sure how easily Mary can get on to the computer at the mo, as she is having to rest her leg so maybe can't sit at the computer and when she comes back from having the surgery, which is being done with local anaesthetic and should only take an hour, she has to rest with the arm elevated. I just hope she doesn't have any adverse effects from the anaesthetic as it has happened in the past and won't be very nice for her.
I will let you know when I get further news.

Mary has also hurt her leg by toppling down some stairs, so having wrist done with the op she will slow down big time. Loads of rest then physo, remember my dad having the op on both wrists at the same time. I think after all this Mary will need a little holiday.

We have to go to Lidl to get him some Tena Ladies because of the catheter by-passing.He gets his mucking firds wuddled because of the stroke and he wants us to get some amalgamated while we are there.


It is baby wipes he needs.

Sharron, can understand how you feel but by gum you really cheer me up with your answers, often when l'm sitting here feeling sorry for my self up pops one of your funnys and l burst out laughing.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I do so admire you because you are obviously under pressure being nurse, PA. mechanic and whatever else but you face it all with a sense of humour. Sad though that you couldn't enjoy your day out.

I don't have a difficult time and have some wonderful friends who take the big bits off me but,every morning,I get up and there is another bit of something waiting for me to organize.Hearing aid has come apart,change Warfarin dose,arrange escort to hospital,book appointment,hoist isn't running properly,catheter is by-passing.Everything has to be broken down into it's component parts and minutely organized.The builders are starting tomorrow.I couldn't enjoy my day out until it was over and I was home and nothing had gone wrong.

I think the nurse who did the dressing knows how to enjoy herself!

My dad is having a scabby bit burned off his belly on 1st March.
He will want more sympathy I suppose!

Hi Liz and Alison, trouble with coal dust is get into everything, thus a few days off then have waterproof coverings until stitches come out in 10 days. OH is very hairy and they did not shave the bit the dressing went on, OUCH when it came off today, so will now be shaving what did not get pulled out ready for the dressing next week, only then has to wear dressing at work.

When dressing came off today it is a wonder you did not hear him in the UK, he did ask is that what it is like to get legs waxed, told him, his back was much worse as my legs do not have that much hair on them, nor were they that long. I think the nurse that did the dressing needs glasses.

Why don't they listen? B has lots of 'barnacles' on his arms and now some on his back and sides. Some fall off and some don't. A new very small lump appeared on his back and over 6 months became bigger and darker so at his last Dr's visit I asked the Dr to take a look. It was nothing, just a new barnacle.The Dr told him he should be grateful he had someone to check his back for him.

Gail, my o.h. had a mole removed a few weeks ago from the top of his bald head, it had appeared from nowhere and was very dark. It's all healed now and doesn't show much, and he hasn't been called back, he said he thinks they said if he didn't hear then all was well when it was checked. He too was very obstinate and took a while to get it checked, and I bet he won't be careful this summer and keep his bonce covered.
He deserves all he gets!

Hope all is ok with the mole your o.h. had removed. O.h. had a clean plaster dressing put on every day at work to protect it from dust and dirt and being knocked but he took the plaster off the rest of the time.

When cleaning my oven I use my shower chair, just the right height for me. I have a wall oven that is lower than normal and easy height for me to use, also it is next to the kitchen sink so can place the trays on the side of tray of the sink.

Beautiful day here today. Oh had a very suspect mole finally removed yesterday and has many stitches, so have him home for a few days, mainly home so does not get dirt in it at work. It will be ten days waiting for the results. Only took me 6 months to get him to let the doctor take a look, a record broken. Mind you it took other people to mention that it should be checked before he finally did.

So now off to apply foil to the bottom of the oven and a try to catch spills and hopefully will make it easier next time.

Poundshop do non stick cooking liners for pans and even for use in the microwave altho they mustn't be used on the oven floor but they are washable and last for ages, all for a pound. I leave cleaning the oven to o.h. as I can't get down and reach inside due to problems with my shoulders. I hate cleaning ovens tho and for the student houses used to get a company in to do them, meant disconnecting them and him taking to his vehicle but so much better and could charge the students out of their deposit so £20 each from 4 of them did the job and taught them to look after cookers in future! Cooker came back in like new for the next lot to mess up!

Carole, is there a Homemakers place near you, or a retro shop, as they might like some of the things you have from your aunts house.

Advertise the tins and magazines on gumtree, someone might be interested.

Hi Caz, I used to have one of those liners but threw it out when it got manky. I line the bottom of my oven with foil, then have a very shallow baking tray sitting on the foil to catch spills.

Carole, my hubby bought two Teflon oven liners for the trays we do oven chips on, he hated cleaning them. He found a better use for them though, ours is a self clean oven but the bottom always gets yucky, not any more now he keeps a liner in the bottom. Easily cleaned as well and really good for biscuits or anything that sticks to the tray.

When we renovated the kitchen the budget did not stretch to a self cleaning oven, I wish it did. IF, anything goes wrong with the oven now I will be replacing with a self cleaning oven.

It has been very much like mid autumn here the past few days. Daughter has been flooded in for nearly a week with over 570 ml of rain. We received 40 mil and thought how lucky we were. The had our average rainfall in 11 days. Soooo jealous. They managed to get into town today and re supply food and essentials. Not much fun for them though with a little boy wanting to be outside.
