Hi folks, my apologies, I have been frantically busy. We did quite well at the fundraiser sat evening, not as much as hoped, but we all had a good time. Monday I tried to clear up a bit, still very tired, yesterday was going to be more of the same but G got himself sent home from school for hitting several people including the principal. Kept him home again today with a runny nose etc, which may explain his 'off' behaviour yesterday.
Then today I still haven't finished clearing up from the fundraiser on Sat. but had to spend the morning at the vet hosp with my corgi who apparently had a very nasty bite on the back of her leg which was grossly infected, also a scratch ulcer on her eye and another on her other leg. Seems the raccoon who was visiting met up withour corgi Rosie.
had a couple of hours to clear some more at home, picked up the other kids from school, drove Em to dance and when I came home the fire dept were here along with ambulance and paramedic, sarah had a very prolonged seizure, I've just got home from hospital, her Mummy is staying overight there with her as she can't be left alone.
When does it end, I'm not complaining, just awfully tired.
We have a hirrific windstorm going on, along with some snow, frigid temps.
I received a package of African viiolet leaves from New zealand today, sadly they were all victims of the cold in transit, so that lets me out of potting them down tonight. I cannot understand why someone who ships leaves regularly would ship them with NO insulation in the package.
I'm off to bed tonight now, very tired, early for once, hopefully catch up a bit.
Night all,
l'll catch up asap.
hugs
Mary

Mary is very busy with her sales etc for the dog fund, I think there was a post on here a few days ago or somewhere I saw something.

I hope the money is mounting up so the dogs get to stay with them soon, and they can get back to a more normal routine, altho nothing is ever normal for Mary, is it with all the problems that crop up etc etc

Deanna, hope Tony has enjoyed his birthday.

To everyone else, love and hugs,
must do something more constructive than sit here 'chatting'

Has anyone seen Gail lately, did I miss her on here? Also Mary, not sure I have seen her either.
Hi Deanna, hope Tony is having a brilliant day and I too wish him all the luck he needs.

There is a new lady on the narcissistic mother'e thread. I think she could do with a bit more support than mine and I have to go and look busy for a bit.

Could somebody have a look please.

The more angles the better. How does she feel?

If you can all recognize it you are going to be one helluva team to deal with it. Lucky girl not having to do it alone.

Sharron
Funnily enough we talked about it last night and he agrees that she certainly seems to be displaying the sings of depression so its not just my coloured view. I guess he didnt want to say anything until i broached the subject knowing that i can detach myself enough emotionally to see what is going on (a skill i have had to learn when dealing with my son) but knowing that acknowledging the fact that she more than likely has depression would be difficult for me.

I know she is only 14 and being a teenager is not easy and they all go through difficult times but there is a subtle difference in her behaviour over the past few weeks lots of little things that when you take them as a whole makes you wonder.

I also did check out a few websites about teenage depression and looking at the general criteria of symptoms and signs she is certainly ticking a lot of the boxes.

I dont wish to appear conceited but i know my both my children very well and having spent several years with a child who didnt speak and has subsequently been diagnosed with autism amongst other things i became very adept at reading body language and attuned to subtle changes in behaviour

Sometimes I think we are not depressed at all, just utterly worn out and frustrated at what life chucks at us.

I would think the first person to talk to about your daughter would be your husband. He is not seeing it with your depressive eyes and he is going to have to be in there with you whatever you do.

Whitenancy Report 8 Dec 2009 09:27

Hi All
Im back again with life assaulting from all sides time to check in.

this time its my daughter i am convinced that she is suffering from depression of late she has become even more selfish and self obsessed than normal she just seems to sleep all the time or stays up till all hours then cant wake up to go to school next day she has also started to say things like im never going to have children no one will ever want to marry and i dont want to live to be an adult.

last night she saw my new organ donor card and so we had the inevitable 20 questions about the whys and wherefores and then she said "if i was dying you would give me one of your organs to save me" to which i replied "of course i would i could give you one of my organs to save yr life i would do it with out hesitation" she replied "dont bother i dont want to live anyway"

Whilst it dosnt surprise me she is depressed given the family history im a depressive, her grandmother is a narcissistic depressive and her aunt is an alcoholic depressive so her genes are kind of stacked against her. my family is living proof of the genetic link for depression!

The big question is how to approach the subject my daughter is somewhat of a hypochondriac at the best of times and has a lazy streak a mile wide and i am just worried that she will use her depression as an excuse to do even less than she does now the old chestnut of " i cant do that because i am depressed"

god only knows why life has to be so hard its not like i dont have enough problems trying to deal with my own feelings and then there is my son who has multiple learning difficulties and is having a really shit time at school. he turns 16 on Monday and i really do wonder what the future hold for him.

The only think that stops me from going completely mad is my hubby he deserves a medal for putting up with us all. they are not even his kids yet he still is prepared to take all the flak that comes his way.

My niece and nephew went to see Auntie last night, they couldn't belive the way she was, it was a real shock for them. Funny she didn't know her brother earlier that day. But she asked me how my kids were and said their names Sunday.

Thinking of our friend Caz and her husband today, lets the news isn't too bad xx

Carole, sounds sad that your Aunt is like this but hope the doctors can find out what's wrong, apart from the obvious, sometimes I think water infections and dehydration can cause a lot of confusion. She doesn't sound particularly unhappy tho.

I can't believe my Aunt is getting worse by the day. Yesterday she told us she could see steam coming out of the ceiling. The beds have all got ironing boards next to them. The dinner lady gives her injections. No one has been to see her. Her mum has a cat now. I asked her if she knew what day it was? She thought about it and said the 6th. It was, but then she said I haven't seen any fireworks. My uncle ( her brother) went today and phoned me tonight and said she was looking at him without a glimps of recognition. It's quite a shock to see someone get like this so quickly. At 87 she did forget things, but never like this.
Dr told my uncle they are going to do a scan to see whats going on. Fingers crossed for her.

Hazel, so sorry for your loss.
Carole (Caz) I will get back to you now that I am able to get to my pooter.
it has not been as bad as we expected... but the last week has been a nightmare.
We had to leave the house and eat out, and come home after about 5 hours!
glue drying on the floors.
It does look nice though. We have now to put everything back in place, and the bathroom floor is to be laid tomorrow.
The men were lovely , and tried to make the whole experience as easy as they could.
we lived in the living room with the micro wave, kettle, toaster, bread bin..... you get the picture don't you?
But it was not half as bad as my mind made it.
As a child I was the same, I hated parties, and being army babies my sister and I went to many.
I used to build up a dreadful picture in my head, and usually it was a great party.
On the other hand, the ones I looked forward to often turned out to be the horrid ones..
So now you have it, Deanna's weird mind in a nutshell.....
Nothing to worry about??
Design a problem for yourself!!

I was shy, so that was the problem... now I am well able to get out and about, I need help to go out!!
Life and its problems... we are never happy are we? ;-0)
Well, better go and put the washing away.

Bless you all and keep smiling, and please look after yourselves.

PLEASE DON'T LEAVE.

Hazel, I am sorry to read that your sister in law's Mum died, what a difficult date this will be for her every year, being so close to Christmas.
May the poor woman rest in peace.

Carol, hope your aunt will be ok - these elderly folk can be so stubborn but as you say, their own worst enemy. A fall turns out to be much worse if you have lain in the cold all night whereas an alarm call to the centre to get some help straightaway could mean a shorter stay in hospital and less pain and discomfort.

Hugs to all who need them,

Lizxx
