No it isn't David, you feel sad for your brother, he is being strong for his family as well as for himself, sometimes those with the worst illnesses seem to have more strength than those of us who are well. I am sorry to hear about your brother and hope he can stay comfortable and pain free.

Hazel, so sorry to see that you are in pain, I hope you get relief from it soon.

Deanna, glad that you are bouncing back up, we wait here patiently for you to do so. Glad also that Tony is better, and what a good son to buy his Dad a TV for his birthday.

Thanks Ann... Tony is doing okay, but he was really bad for a while.
Allan had a letter the other day to say that he is eligible for a free TV licence!!.........
And the TV BROKE!!!
Get the picture? The story of our lives! ;-0)

It was going to cost a huge amount to fix it, so Tony went out and bought Allan a new TV for his birthday on Sunday!!
Allan said... "that is great, my birthday and I get a present for the house!"
Made me laugh... all my adult life, my presents have been things like... washing machines, hoovers, and the like! He was only kidding I have to say.
Anyway, I am getting better. It is normally just depression, or the likes. SO. I'm on the way up again.

Love to all of you and even though I am not here, please believe that I think of you all....A LOT!!
Love to all, and those who are feeling low, it will all be better in a few days, or weeks... we are never down too long are we?

Carole have a wonderful time, I envy you, love Florida.
Mary, Good luck with the fund raiser and good luck to MiniMary selling the bags, she is a little worker, no doubt about that, she must be sick of the sight of bags.
Deanna, sorry you are poorly, hurry up and get well, and you son too.
Colin, hallo.
Clairjo, good to see you, hope all well with you and the family.

My goodness, nobody on here for 2 days, that's a first . . .
juust popped in to send hugs all round.
we have our major benefit booked now for dec 5th., should be a good time. mini-Mary's bags are selling quickly, and she is to attend 5 craft shows (popular here in the autumn months) to display and sell her wares..
Not sure how I ever fitted in a full-time job, my days are more chaotic than ever. Gareth will be glad to move back upstairs tonight, he has really been "off" the past few days, while the new coating on the floors has been drying thoroughly. he will be so glad to be back in his own bed.
Carole I hope you have a safe trip and a lovely holiday in Florida.
Trust Liz has landed safely and enjoying herself.
Really appreciate the kinds thoughts I've received on this thread and by pm, it has really helped to motivate me to keep on keeping on. Thank you all for your kindnesses and caring.
Love
Mary

Hope it helped Mary.... Wish it could have been more..... I know everyone thinks so.
You are a little darling Mary, and Joyce cannot let a friend pass without being helped... She would beat us if we didn't help and we are SO AFRAID of her.... ;-0)

I only came on to say that I am not too well, but I will be back.
My poor son is also ill just now.
Love to all,

Mary so pleased for you and hope it wont be long before the dogs are with you. Lovely to get all that material from the shop, what a help that will be.

Carole, I am pleased that your Dad is home now, nothing like being in your own home, he will relax more now I am sure.

Ben, I am so pleased for you that you confirmed that marriage.

Well my dear friends - It's been quite a day!!
First I received a phone call from the local huge fabric shop, to ask me to come by and pick up some fabric they had set aside for me. I received a huge box of various pieces and 2 bolts of lining, and a pile of upholstery fabric, some gorgeous pieces.
Then at noon I went out to collect the day's post and what did I find but the amazing surprise from my GR friends towards the dogs. That literally left me shaking and in tears of gratitude. Thank you all so much.
My mood distinctly continued to improve over the afternoon, when Gareth was all but impossible, his Mum's at school and he plays up, absolutely wild, both Meg and I were kicked and hit, miniMary was hit too. if the dog had been with him, the situation should have calmed before it escalated. Tonight, since he went to therapy, he is a delight - of sorts!!

This afternoon, a friend turned up at the door, with an offer to help cut out fabric for the bags (how did she know my hand was cramping?) I sent her home with a pattern and a bolt of lining fabric, what a help that will be.

Then I received a call from a stranger, a teacher who had seen information about Mary's bags and this lady wants to help, and to start she has ordered 3 bags.

Then the icing on the cake, I received a lovely call from Carole, the "fearless leader of the depressed and anxious" which I also really appreciated.
Now I am pretty tired but exhilarated, the sewing machine is going full-tilt in the other room, and I am relaxing.
From the bottom of my heart and soul, I thank all of you who helped give me such a fantastic surprise today. Many days I feel like I am flying by the seat of my pants, alone (despite the crowd round me) and depressed, though I try to mask it. Today I feel validated in my mission, affirmed and supported. Bless your dear hearts, love and hugs,
Mary

Things should be a good deal better for everybody now Carole. At least he will be comfortable with the carers washing him every day.

He will benefit from having several different faces calling in too.

Has he got a nice lilac hoist,so fetching I always feel.

Mummo It's been a long nearly ten weeks since Dad went into hospital. I was so worried he would have to go into a home as he really didn't want to leave his home. Just have to see if the new arangements work now.

Just had a quick talk with Mary. The dogs are being bought with American dollars, and the collection exchanged into nearly $900.00 US . Gareth has been hard work again today, so the sooner they have the dogs the better.xx

Well Dad is home, he was taken home by ambulance about 5:40 this afternoon. His hospital bed and hoist too. Carers are going in in the morning to get him up and washed and dressed, then at night to get him to bed. Hope it works well.

Did you all see MaxiMarys post? That the money for the dogs has arrived? What a lovely lady. xxx

Hi

Ann I remember you helping me with that Bradford thing. I have now solved the mystery. I can be 100% sure that I have the right Sarah. She was Sarah Coombs until 1834 when she re married and James Bradford was her second husband after George Coombs died in about 1833 ish.
