Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 21 May 2009 03:23

Lily, I wish you well with writing that book, so many children abused and lost with so called good people treating them badly under the cover of religion.
I just googled Nobody's Child and there are several versions on You Tube, but then I saw a link to You are my Sunshine - well that got me going, I am sure I remember my Dad singing it to me when I was very young. My Dad was never one for singing so it's a very hazy memory but somewhere buried deep.....

How I feel for those children alone, bewildered and abused or bullied, they are still bearing the mental and physical scars to this day as you know only too well.

Your story of the inheritance being stolen by the church is one I know. It seems in my son's Maltese family, his grandmother's mother was an only child of a wealthy man, but somehow - I can't recall the details - she was swindled out of the inheritance by the Catholic church in Malta. What a dreadful thing to happen, and as she had no siblings to help fight her case with her, she had to give up. I seem to remember that Dom Mintoff who was then a lawyer, before he became Prime Minister, was hired to help try and get the inheritance, a farm or something back for the family, but the Church won.

Ben, so glad you have had a giggle over that certificate lol

Deanna, well done, you and Brian with an i are stars in the way you have fought back from your strokes etc. You and your family must be over the moon with the results.

Eileen, good for you looking after your granddaughter with the wasp sting, however I think you put yourself through too much, it's only bees that leave a sting and wasps don't so not sure how much 'venom' was there to suck out. I think we will do whatever it takes for our youngsters even when they are grown up lol, and for their children too.

take care everyone.
love

Hi Everyone, just on for a while. Am biginning to feel a little better.
Did anyone see the news about the child sexual and mental abuse in the homes where they were put because their parents could not "look after them" it is very close to my heart. The names of the abusers are not going to be given so they cannot be brought to justice.Children are buried in grounds and under walls, nobody knows even where or who they are, others buried in graveyards and do not have markers, some sold to Americans and the religious kept the money. One girl that i know was adopted out and when her Grandfather died he left a farm to her mother(his daughter) but the nuns said that she was not compadant enough to know what to do with it so they got the money, her mother knew nothing about it, it was only when the girl herself went looking that she found out about it and her mother was still working there but they would not tell her.
She only found out when her mother died.
I am writing a book and i am going to call it "Nobody,s Child" it is a song that i used to sing to my brothers when they were small to help them sleep? little did i know that it would rear its head in real later in life for me and my family.
Take care everyone,talk soon
Bless,
Lily.

Yes Eileen.... we oldiesare a great generation.....

I went to the hospital yesterday and I have been DISCHARGED!!

Only from that clinic, but it did cheer me up no end.
I came out feeling so full of hope.
There will be a follow up clinic for me, but my BP is great, my Kidneys are back to normal, my infections are gone....
All in all it was a good meeting with the consultant... and I was given a lot of hope.
As she said.... 'you don't need any more problems, you have enough' And I had to agree with her.
So my next appointment is..

The nurses clinic in June,
and I'm not sure what they will do for me, but I feel good about it now after speaking to the consultant yesterday.
Then the haematologist, then
with the Surgeon , in August.
That is it so far...... as far as I KNOW!!!
Bye then,
Love Deanna XXX

My grandaughter from two doors down, phoned me earlier this afternoon to say she had been stung by a wasp in her foot. Just to show how much I love them all, I have to mention this. Went along and put some special strong vinegar, which we use for cleaing windows and de-scaling coffee makers and electic kettles, on the 'wound', but also sucked the place very hard several times (nice when sneakers are worn !!!?), then out more of this exra strong vinegar on a piece of cotton wool, then a wet tea towel around the stung place.......Just goes to show, g.parents are not obselete.!!!!!!

Good afternoon everyone,

Have just skimmed through the posts, tried to read them as well as poss. but find my concentration wandering....this always happens when I'm stressed, probably most of you recognise this too?

Gail said, she tends to hide away when she feels bad.Glad I'm not the only one.

Have not been feeling too well, both mentally and physically for some time.Med.s for the thyroid prob. have been upped again since last thursday. Maybe things will get better once the specialists have got the dosage right?

Hope all of you are keeping as well as possible.

Wishing everyone a peaceful week.

Take care.

Still in the land of the living, the past six weeks has taken its toll, physical recovery is improving but mentally is taking a bit longer. Still up coughing half the night though.

Sorry for not being on much, I tend to hide when not well. Hopefully things will improve soon.

Deanna, glad to see you posting and hope you will feel better soon. Try and think past your apptmt so you don't get too stressed, if you can. Keep losing yourself in that book to take your mind off the visit. I hope the hospital visit goes ok and Allan gets good news too.

Hi Kathy, I have been worried about you and not managed to get to phone, but can imagine how upset and angry you must feel about the proposed building etc I would be livid, and would talk to anyone and everyone I could, like mps, local councillors etc etc and get national papers on board to let everyone know how sneakily this is being pushed through. It is so wrong that these things can seem to get the go ahead against all previous rulings. Can you not nip out and find some rare wild flower there or something similar to stop them in their tracks? Don't quite want you moving into a tree house or lying down in front of diggers etc but hope you can get people together to put a stop to this or at least hold it all at bay for several years.
We are supposed to be having a new road that will cut across villages and lovely wildlife areas to improve traffic flow across the country, well not many people want it and there have been so many enquiries etc and various disagreements that it is still not started, thankfully. Hopefully it will be another few years before anything finally gets going, if people can't afford to buy or run cars which could happen before long if things don't pick up, the traffic will ease through the city and it won't be needed lol

We will talk soon I hope, but K on earlies this week so will do it from my mobile while I am out, if I can get out without him! Car in on Thurs for MOT etc so that's at least one day I can't go out.

take care, hope J is ok, can't you turn him into a Swampy lol

Hi all

For those that missed me I am still alive just !!

Welcome to new posters I am sorry that I did not say hi sooner .

Our council have decided to dispence with the green belt area rules and build a 30000 seater football pitch plus 2000 houses .hotel etc etc very close to my house . It will eradicate the wild life but worse still set a president for future property development . I have been working the last few weeks to try to find any thing that will help our cause .Any suggestions very welcome !!!

All happening very fast under the guise that due to the recession the building work and tenders will be cheaper now so they have to move quickly !!! smell a rat ????

Kathy will get off her soap box now and try to stop fuming against corruption in government and local government .!

Hope you are all feeling as good as you can and promise to answer pm's soon ( when I am calmer ! )

love

Liz, Ann and anyone else who missed me.... I am okay.
I really am a bit fed up and stayed away for a while.
I tried to do a bit or research, and stay way so that I could perhaps get a bit.... calmer??
Bit down, fed up... how the hell can you be up and down at the same time??
Anyway. I have an appointment at the hospital on Tuesday and even 'going' to it is upsetting me.
NOT the appointment or the doctor... just my private little mental turmoil.
Some of you know, as I have mentioned it at times to you... but too private to chatter about it.
Here am I at FOUR MINUTES PAST TEN!!! AND I AM STILL UP.
That will tell you something wont it?
I should be in bed with my book!
Talking of my book.... the book club must read it!!!
I'll tell you the title and author next time..... cos I have forgotten!! ha ha ha
Good night all.

Sounds unnecessary comment to me Ben, not worth distressing yourself over it.

Benjamin Report 17 May 2009 13:00

Hi

I think you probably know what forum I am on about. Sorry but her comment wasn't light hearted. What she said was quite spiteful and sarcastic as in to say "Maybe he could do no more help in the house than fly in the air". What was all that about? I dont see any light heartedness in that. I did tell her that if she hasnt got anything constructive or nice to say to keep quiet. She was being mean and I was talking about it on another forum and they all agreed that what she said was quite nasty and the admin of this forum said that rudeness like hers wouldnt be tolerated here. There are ways of saying things.

Just adding to this to send it up to the top again before it disappears. Ben, ignore what people say, you build upwhatever picture of your ancestors family that you want to. What a nasty person to upset you like that but are you sure you were not taking what was meant to be a light hearted comment seriously? We can't know what our ancestors did, how I wish we could, but it is nice to imagine good things about them.
Caz, hope the bruises heal for you soon.
Deanna are you OK?

Hazel, have a super time in Cornwall, what a lovely sister you have, I have my cyber Sis Carol and many others on here who are like Sisters to me, but always wanted a blood one, hoped when my brothers married I would have a good relationship with my sisters in law but both of them are snooty madams, even my Mum and Dad thought so, so no joy there, we are not close at all. Mum used to say Who do they think they are? they only come from a council house like us, but they thought they were high and mighty and because both my brothers have businesses now they are even worse. I barely see my brothers or their wives or my nephew, they don't bother with birthdays or anything so I gave up bothering too, only so long you bang your head against the wall. Even yesterday my Mum's anniversary, they didn't make contact and weren't bothered when I called or emailed in the past so didn't bother to get in touch with them yesterday.
So Hazel, enjoy your holiday and hope when you get back you will get some news about the move. Glad your daughter is home ok and hope her cold goes soon. I hadn't realised your son's girlfriend was pregnant, so hope things work out ok - sounds very fraught at the mo.

Mary, lovely that you got a trampoline, can you send a picture of you on it lol
I had a go on my son's ex's son's trampoline (did you follow that lol) a few years ago when they were still together and it was quite fun but make sure you go to the loo first lol Glad you got some sleep and hope work hasn't been too bad, I rang you around 8pm our time but got miniMary, a bit confusing when the line isn't clear but bless her she was very sweet and told me you were at work, I thought you were on night shift so would be around, I obviously got muddled up, what's new lol
Great that you can sell the water to get more doggy funds. Good luck this time.

Y Caz, I know how fed up you were that you couldn't talk to folk soon after you moved but you are back in contact now, so hope you will be ok from now on. I am sorry you are still hurting from your tumble and hope things get better from here on in (what a pompous daft phrase lol) I think we will have to declare a tumble free month soon and fine anyone who falls over, we would get a fortune from Dutch.

Alison, you are doing just right with your daughter, I was actually very timid at school and didn't mix very well, but came out of my shell when I went to work in a holiday camp one summer at the age of 19, left home for the first time and it was great, I was a changed person when I got back. Now I talk to anyone and everyone, even if they don't want to listen lol, and am nowhere near as shy, I have done lots of public speaking at meetings etc over the last years from joinging community committees and such and so on. When I organised school reunions and got up to speak there, people couldn't believe it was me! They said but you were always so shy lol
Plenty of time for your girl to blossom even more than she already is, best of luck to her and to you and her Dad, who sounds a lovely man .

Better get a look at some other threads,
take care all
