Very confused, it's 3.20am Monday 26th and the posts on here say today at 12.44 etc something amiss as should be saying yesterday! Or is it me? Have I finally lost it?
Hoping to get to the hospital today to get the tests done but have had these before several times and they always come back fine so not holding out hope that there will be any difference this time!
Will catch up with everyone soon, as lots to do and must get to bed earlier than usual, o.h. up at 5 to go to work at 5.30am.
Love to all who are struggling and to those winning their battles, well done to you.
love and hugs
Lizxxx

Ha ha, very funny, just posted and the times have been altered now to yesterday lol

Carole thank you for starting this amazing thread, it has already been a huge help to so many people.
I'm running today , have to go 2 hours early in to work as it's the only time I can get a ride. As usual too much to do, too little time.
have a good day all,
Mary XXX

Good afternoon all,

It has been very sunny and mild here, almost like a spring day.
Thanks to all who have asked after me. Have been thinking of everyone on this thread a lot lately, and sending up a big 'thank you' for all the good wishes and support. We are a great bunch, when you think of it, giving each other support when and where it is needed.
T.H it IS so strange and wonderful to at last know who you look like, isn't it? A lot of my questions were answered when I saw actual photos of my Scottish side of the family, this was all down to eldest grandchild Indra, who started the quest a few years ago, when she became a 'free member' of GR, and found a first cousin of mine, who said I definitely look like the Scottish side.I always felt out of sinc, if this is the right word. My brother Douglas (g.son is names after him, as is eldest grandchild, i.e Indra Douglas) was also blond, darker than me, my sister was dark-haired like the Irish side.
Lots of things fell into place when I saw photos.Very moving!!!
Have been helping out at daughter Eleanor's this afternoon, after the party for her son Douglas's 18th. He has his first driving lessons tomorrow, then the theory exam on tuesdsay at 10.30. I would appreciate it very much if you would send him possitive vibes. I certainly will, but wish I could pray....He came to ask me to go for a spin yesterday, something he shouldn't have been doing without a valid license, which you can only obtain after your 18th in this country. This was just to show me his 'bluetooth' thingy, which was my birthday pressie, among other things.
I am so pleased he can phone hands free, among other things, when I think back to when my son went on his first trip to France with his schoolfriend Hans just after my divororce on '86. Hmmmm!

Muist get moving, have an enormouos amount of washing to 'move'' from Eleanor's place.

Good luck and happiness to all.

Love from Eileen xx

To all wo are struggling with pain, mental or otherwise, I wish you all a great peace of mind, and once again, envelop you all in a general hug.

Love. Eileen xx

Cinders could you edit your post to ask for prayers which I'm sure we are pleased to offer for Angie and her mother. But remove the rest. Hayley hope you will also remove your post.
Thank you both for your understanding

We have had peace on here for a year why start trying to drag us into the arguments

Thank you Hayley

Well done Cinders for removing the chat thread.

Hayley, we would appreciate please it if you would not spoil this thread which is a haven for people who are unwell and/or unhappy. yours is the first contentious post we have had on here. I am sure a message to cinders elsewhere would have been sufficient.

Gail, thanks for that info, that is really interesting and I hadn't heard of a Nelson knife before. can see where the name comes from now though. it must be a real boon to be able to be self sufficient. Plus you, like me have a great OH who helps you so much.

A big hi to everyone.

Clairejo, have been reading your thread and it is very informative. I have learnt so much from reading it.

Treehunter, you can always share with us. Would love to hear your findings.

How are the colds and flue going, Tinker and Sharron especially?

Ann in gloss, a Nelson knife, is a knife and fork combination. slightly L shaped, so the knife part can be rolled to cut food, the end has four prongs, just like a fork so food can be cut and eaten with the one piece of cutlery. It means I can cut up my own food and meat without someone else doing it. Great when eating out. The knife I have is nearly down to 2 prongs so I sometimes now loose food from the end. I also have a roller knife, which I use all the time as well, but when eating it means putting this knife down then picking up a fork, bit of a pain. Roller knife, when sharp is great for preparing food. You grip the roller knife more with a fist like action, different than using a normal knife, it is more like a curved L laying sideways. I can use any knife, as long as is sharp, for some reason the sharper the knife, the less likely I am to cut myself, I think mainly as not as much pressure is needed, so my hand does not slip down the blade. As you can probably guess, I love my toys. For a long time I would not eat out, as hated OH cutting up my food for me. Now if I have forgotten my knife I do not care.

A couple of years ago OH had to have his right arm operated on. He was so helpless, could not do anything for himself, so use of one arm me, had to help him. Was very funny really. He also realised how difficult it was for me to adjust, he also appreciated all the hard work I put into being able to be mainly self sufficient. Without my toys, life would be more difficult. Best toy is the dishwasher, the next is a steam mop. One other toy OH got for me is a set of battery run dusters, he loves them so much, he mostly does the dusting, money well spent. Another is a top of the range dyson vacuum, he loves it so much he vaccys twice a week, more money well spent. Could not ask for more now could I. Plus the fact he is a gentle giant and would do anything for me.

Well have to go and finish watering the gardens. Yes it is night, but so hot throughout the day, is better to water at night with a torch in tow.

Love and hugs

Gail

Pssst, one of our members birthday in on the 26, our Australia Day.
