Oh Carole.I had so much hope pinned on this one. Are you sure nothing will be done? She can't be the first old lady who has said that in similar circumstances.

It really doesn't matter that they know you rang.Hold your head high. You have done NOTHING wrong at all.You are brilliant!

Where are you all?
SS been to see Auntie. asked her if she was happy to live as she was. Of course she said yes! So nothing going to be done to help her. And we asked not to be named as the ones who asked for the visit and she was told my husbands name as it was him who spoke to them. Asked them not to say !

Hello everyone, please don't think I am ignoring you, I think of you all and wonder how you are . I am feeling strange at moment, can't explain it but it feels as if I don't exsist, just plodding on from one day to the next, not really wanting to bother. My gp is coming tomorrow so she might have an explanation, though I doubt it. Our sky dish broke in the wind last night so engineer is coming tomorrow to fix it, what's the betting they turn up together.
Reading Eileen listens to music when really low, I used to but now it irritates the h**l out of me. Can't stop thinking about my mum and how much I want to talk to her, I can't, she passed away on 5 Feb 2000. I miss her so much.

I owe e-mails and pms but I will get round to it when I can, sorry folks who are waiting.

When I'm feeling really low, as is the case a lot of the time, or was some weeks/moths ago, I listen to Luke Kelly's The Button Pusher on youtube, it always makes me smile.

Seems as if the thaw has set in.Woke up to a loud noise, as if my garden furniture was being thrown around.Have to admit I have been lazy, it is still standing outside, chairs collapsed up against the table. When I at last took a look, it was due to great big chunks of frozen snow rumbling their way from the roof. What a noise!!!!!!!!!! They were enough to take your head off!!!

Anyway, it was o.k to venture out to the shops, something I normally dislike doing. Would you believe it, there were other people on this planet, I SAW them!!!! The roads around here are very slushy and still slippery, but it was possible to walk (very carefully).WOW!!!!

Should have gone to the lab. in hospital for blood tests, but will save this heady excersise for tomorrow.

Keep well and cheerful everyone.

Love from Eileen xx

Dear Liz, never mind his sanity, what about yours????? How I wish we could spirit you out of there. The few good hours aren't worth the multiple bad ones.
Sticking my neck out I know, sorry, cannot stand seeing anyone treated as a doormat.
Please look after yourself.
Hugs,
Mary

Sorry all, I know I owe lots of pm replies etc but had a bothersome day with o.h., he was in a really stupid mood and did my head in with his stupid actions and remarks so am a bit fed up at the mo, especially as I have a week of him being on early shift so home every day around 2.30pm. He really is like an annoying fly that you want to swat out of the way, one day I will find a shovel for a fly swat and that will be him splattered lol He has days like this, but he is completely draining when he is like that and if it hadn't been so cold and my hair needed washing, I would have walked out the door for a few hours.

Will catch up with everyone soon, it is like living with a toddler, I fear for his sanity sometimes!

Hope you are all ok and have a good week,
Lizxxx

Hi Tinkerbell, my apologies for being insensitive. I do know what it is to loose a close family member or three. I would rather not put details on here, as it was a long time ago and I don't need to discuss it now. I will send you a brief PM- please delete it if it's not OK.

Glad you layed the flowers treehunter and a few tears are to be expected, let them flow for your Mum and your loss, and the nostalgia of the house and area. I am sure your Mum is pleased with your efforts and will be around you like a warm cuddle.

Deanna, well blow me down, what a post, well done you! Whatever will you surprise us with next, you are doing good.

Carole, of course someone had to report the old lady, bless her, how the heck could her brother leave her like that, she would be one of those you read about or hear of on the news, found frozen to death on the floor or something.
Hope she gets some help now to live in a decent warm environment even if not at her home anymore, can't be very pleasant living like that.

Take care all, o.h. getting up for work soon so must dash

Sharron lol x

I might be in trouble. I said to oh before Xmas someone should
do something about my aunt. I felt I should ring social services and see if there was anything she could get help with. 85yrs old no central heating, no cooker, no microwave. no washing machine, no fridge or freezer, can't get upstairs to toilet so has a comode which she has to empty outside, while using a walking frame. Can't bath or shower. Has bed in front room, which is damp. Stopped wearing pants so she can get on comode faster! Still gets there too late. See's no neighbours, so could fall and not be found for hours. Brothers also getting on so I don't think she should rely on them so much. So anyway my oh said he would ring them for me. Social services have made an appointment with her telling her a nephew rang them about seeing her. We had asked them not to say who it was, as it could cause trouble. Her brother, my uncle phoned last night to see if it was us, so oh said it was.( Or it looked like his granddaughter was going to get the blame as she had said she was going to get this aunt put in a nursing home recently) He said you may have stirred up a hornets nest! What was we to do leave her until she falls and freezes to death in her yard? Was it my business?

Hello everyone, we have just had a visit from Allan's sister and her husband, the first since before Christmas.
It was the first they had seen of the presents we bought them for Christmas. We see them about every 6 weeks... a bit of a drive for him.
They have just left and I thought that i would try and catch up with my emails.... but the drier needs to be emptied!!
No peace for the wicked.
after that I need to toss a salad for tea.... boy do I work hard!

Colin..... I hope you are coping today. That is all we have to do, get through today!! I would love to chat but as you all know, I am having a problem getting my fingers to do what my brain tells them to do. Today though, I seem to be a lot better typing seems a little easier.

Mary, that was a lovely surprise getting your lovely newsy letter. I even thought of writing back.. then realised that my writing is now worse than my typing. ha ha ha

To all of you lovely people I want to say... I think of you daily, so please don't think I am ignoring your friendship... I truly treasure it.
And as for you Carole... thank you for remembering me in your list of affection. ;-0)

lots of love Deanna XXX

Rang wheelchair engineers this afternoon.Apparently they were working on it but could not work out what was wrong.Maybe they should have stuck to bloody floristry!!!!!

Meanwhile I am having to keep him occupied.Somebody has made us o ne of those boards with the spikes in so he is in charge of the spuds as well now.

There is three pounds of seville oranges simmering on the stove for marmalade. Not only did he have to go to the next village on the bus with his mate to buy them,he has also had to get on the food processor to squeeze them and chop the peel.

It seems there is a rehabilitation centre we should have been told about where you can get these boards and all sorts of other living aids. They may have sent him home to die two years ago but he hasn't.Surely we could be let into these little secrets. It was only because we know somebody who was a nurse and whose daughter has lost the use of her hand that we found out.

Rant over, must get back to my a*se kicking.

doesn't bore me either Eileen!!

Still extremely cold here although we have had some sunshine and just now a glorious sunset. The frost is still in the ground though so there was no golf for OH today. so being bored he did the ironing and made a loaf, yesterday equally bored he did all the floors. I have been playing, doing my scrapbooking.

Hi Eileen, no one ever bores the pants of me reading this thread, it is so interesting to feel part of each other's lives and to know what makes others tick. I watched the programme that discovered Paul Potts, if you google his name you will find out more about how he got started, from rather humble beginnings and not that much confidence to where he is now with a cd out.

Just had a natter with Dutch and we had a laugh, which was good.

Colin, lots of theories on depression but it is often getting the right treatment that is the answer and that's like picking the winning lottery number! I have been trying to get cbt for my ocd for years but no one in our area does cbt for hoarders so I get fobbed off or moved on to someone else to no avail. I haven't take medication for a long time as I hated the side effects but the 5htp seems to help me stay on top of things sometimes altho I can only afford it when it's on offer ! Would get anti ds etc free as I am a pensioner!

Carole, will look forward to talking with you again, he is not on lates till week after next tho sadly and that's the best time!

Better be brave and have a bath, it's freezing up there but I can't go out with my hair a mess and feeling yukky and want some fresh air and get my lottery tickets etc.
K has the car as he had to go back for the blood tests and then straight to work, he will be home early this evening so better get a wriggle on and do something before he catches me here!

love to all - sorry I can't do a Carole and mention everyone, doesn't mean I don't think about you all tho.
