Well, one hurdle over Sharron, you got the bus. I bet he loved the trip really just didn't want to show it.
What a kind bus driver, pity there are not more like it.

Mary, glad you got your van back, also glad you didn't get too much snow. Poor you losing all that sleep. still at least it sounds as if you prevented the fever. Little monkey isn't he? i suppose he thought if he spilled it he wouldn't have to have any!! Hope he is better now.

Popping in quickly to say hello, got my van back, several hundred $$ later . . . . funny thing, it's running much better now, strange . . . . .We've had a couple of snowfalls, but have been left with just a dusting of the white stuff on the lawns, nothing to clear, a bit icy, the sky was gorgeous this morning, a pinkish hue with hundreds of little cloud bits all tinged pink, Megan said it looked like a 'paint by numbers' picture.
We are still working on clearing the creepy crawlies, 2 kids heads clear now, 2 to go. I never, in my life, saw so much laundry.
I bought a Christmas pressie yesterday -a big red UK pillarbox - which is actually a cupboard for CD's/DVD's. My son will love it LOL.
Six people to go . . . . I am totally behind and non-motivated. Please someone send me some "get-up-and-go", mine has got up and went . . . .,just so tired.

Was up for a couple of hours in the night when my grandson spiked a fever and is high risk for seizure, He wasn't impressed when his Mum tried to give him a medication - so he knocked over the bottle of liquid medication - his Mum was out to the shops at 4am to get some more. I did go back to sleep and actually slept late. Now I'd like another nap LOL.

Some sad news on here this morning, sending hugs to those who are hurting, or are sharing sadness with someone else.

We have been on the bus.Of course he had to compose his face into 'I wish I wasn't here' mode and pretend he just was not very interested in the whole event.Had to go out for an hour and a friend popped in.Of course the old man was full of it!Wouldn't you know?

He is off to the Christmas dinner for the old folks club,of which he is not even a member, today.Such a busy life!

The bus driver was commendable. He is trying to make the fact that the bus is disabled access known to anybody he sees who he thinks might benefit from it.

We need a photograph for the old man's bus pass.I was pondering how to get that done, you can't fit a wheelchair in a photo-booth,without huge exspense. The bus driver has his own camera and printer. It is not even his bus.I am very impressed by him.

Still not quite human. Long trip and not much sleep. The people in the room next to ours had the TV on all night (Friday), when the wedding finished (Saturday) they had a party till 4:30 in the morning. It rained most of the time and cleared on Sunday.

The wedding was lovely, and managed to get photos of all my nephews and nieces and all the greats as well. Of course the bride was beautiful and the groom was very handsome, and very nervous as well. It was very formal, so was difficult to behave myself, I managed to be very good.

I did not receive one comment about my outfit. :-((

Also when I looked at the photos when we got home, no photos of me. Oh had the video camera and no video either. I did get some lovely scenery photos on the way home though. When I feel better will sort photos and video.

Goddammit again!

Thought we had another step forward with the old man. There is a bus that sort of shuttles between two villages that passes our house. Had not paid it much attention until the other day when the driver stopped to give our mate a time-table when he saw him out with the wheelchair. It is one of those easy access busses to take a wheelchair.

Had a look at the time-table and thought we might get the old man to one of the villages. It takes a bit of organizing to fit in with carers and commodes and things and he can think of all the reasons the idea won't work.

Anyway, today, because the weather is bright and fine, I thought I would take him on to the bus and we could do the shuttle one way and then the other and come back home, just to try it out.

Had him outside wearing his coat and hat and looking forward.Along comes a different bus.The easy access was in for repair.

Wouldn't you know it?!

I've been working all weekend, and will again this afternoon, they have brought in a new system of medication delivery- electronic no less, fine for the young ones, but I'm thinking this may be too much of a challenge at my advanced age. It certainly seems efficient, but at present much more time-consuming, which means standing longer on one spot - my downfall. I don't mind a challenge but prefer to pick my own!!!!
I'm watching the clouds flying by at a great rate. We were predicted a snowstorm overnight but none materialised. Now the sky is so busy, hopefully any snow activity will be blown out over the lake.
Still haven't got my van back, feel absolutely lost without personal wheels since Friday.
Everyone slept in this morning, not good on a school day, so I'm lounging around amidst the aftermath - with any luck, Megan will make a pot of coffee, bless her.
I received a beautiful bedspread for my b'day, and yesterday when I got home from work, there was a distinct stench in my bedroom, the *&^%$$*&^&% dog had apparently jumped on my bed and left some parcels for me. My beautiful embroidered bedspread, now with a brown stain in the middle.
We just moved here a year ago and I love my little space, now my daughter is talking about moving again - building a house with more upstairs bedrooms, give me strength, I cannot think about such a thing, haven't recovered from the last 2 moves. We basically have to live 'together' for mutual support, her 2 children with autism need 24/7 care/supervision and it's virtually impossible for one person. on their own to cope with their behaviours. Yesterday Sarah dumped 2 brand new bottles of shampoo in the bath, and lathered herself, determined to have a shower in the middle of the day. All Mummy did was go in her bedroom for a minute, and that's all the time it took for the bottles to be dumped, clothes stripped off and lathering to begin.
While they were busy in the bathroom, Gareth climbed onto the kitchen counter, took down a drinking glass, and dropped it on the ceramic floor so it shattered into a million pieces. Did you know it makes a lovely 'ping' sound when it hits the floor???
An hour or so later, Mummy is crying, because now Sarah is eating someone's deodorant. Blessed peace when they go to sleep eventually.
You wonder why I work evening shift???? LOL

Better get moving here, have a good day all,
hugs
Mary

Ann,
Nothing worse than having a nice day out, then having to travel home in the dark and rain.

Have just had a call from my sons partner asking us up tomorrow and stay over and come back Wed afternoon. They don't like us driving in the dark. As I don't drive anymore since my stroke. It makes it easier for the OH.

Kathy,
Hope it soon thaws a bit for you, not nice getting around if it is icy.

Gillie, sorry you have had a rotten weekend. Hope all goes well for you at the hospital, will send you lots of positive thoughts.

I think everyone must be caught up in their Christmas preparations.

I was not on here much yesterday as we drove to Milton Keynes and back to see son and family and deliver Christmas presents. It is about an hour and three quarters in each direction. It was no problem going there but coming home in the dark and it was raining for half the journey, the traffic was nose to tail in both directions so it was pretty horrendous. still it was nice to see them and I spent the afternoon, after lunch at the local harvester, playing a game called silly spaghetti with 6 year old Granddaughter which was fun.

Hope it is warmer for you where you are than it is here today. OH has toddled off to golf but it is so frosty I don't think he will have started playing yet.

Take care

Morning everyone, I hope you all feel better than I do today, Ive had a very stressful weekend and to top it all I have to go to hospital this afternoon which I am not looking forward to, I am dreading it.
I've hardly slept for 2 nights with worry over family matters.

Where has everyone gone ??????

Are you all freezing like us ???? The ground has been white since friday but it is ice not snow . I complained about snow last weekend but I would welcome it back now as it would get a bit warmer .

Had to venture into town yesterday for a committe meeting .It lasted 2 and a half hours by which time I had lost the will to live !!!!!!
I do not normally giggle but as the thing dragged on I and the girl next to me got a fit of the giggles .Don't know why but it is the best laugh I have had for years .( we will probably be asked to leave with a bit of luck !! )

Well today is St Andrews day so I tried to buy a haggis yesterday but every where was sold out. Should have done it before the saga sorry meeting .

Today would have been my dad Andrew's 96 birthday .

love to all

Morning friends, just popping in quickly to say hello and hope you all are (reasonably) OK.
We have snow, not a lot, but very cold, I'm without my vehicle, leaking coolant, so it had to be towed, running hot, hope the engine hasn't been blown, still paying for this van . . .
we've been struggling with creepy crawlies which the kids brought back from school, oh joy,oh bliss, the laundry is unending.
My sciatica is decreasing slowly, been a real nuisance to my independent streak. LOL
Sending hugs to those who need them today, think of you all, just so harried and tired these days.
hugs
Mary
