Mary, that poor little girl, is she okay now?

I am having problems with my e-mail provider.... INCREDIMAIL...
So if any of you are a bit worried that I have not e-mailed you.
That is the reason.
I can't.
They told me to uninstall any firewall which I downloaded.... and send them a letter.
Then tell them what happened...... they do not seem to get it.
I CANNOT SEND MY MAIL!!! ;-0(
Do any of you have any other ways of sending mail??
The first one to say.... GPO..... I will report to GR for abuse!!! ;-0)

PS. Had a couple of e-mails from our **American traveller**....

Hello dear friends, sorry I've been AWOL, busier than usual here with one thing or another.Couple of scares as Sarah has had 3 seizures last week and topped it off by falling into the edge of the Welland canal during one of them. mercifully it was quite shallow at the edge with lots of pebbles for about 6-8' out. She is FINE, but we weren't with her at the time, by the time we arrived, there were all the kids from the birthday party she was attending, all with fishing rods waving around (what a great idea for a b'day party), plus the ambulance and paramedics, in the middle of the chaos, Gareth decided to take himself and Dudley for a swim, planted himself face-down on the pebbles, and the poor dog trying unsuccessfully to get a foothold on the wet pebbles, to keep Gareth from going further out to the deep water. Took 4 people to extricate child and dog from the water, while the paramedics worked on Sarah.
Both kids are OK, both dogs are tired!!! I am on my feet!!

Yesterday was Father's Day here - not the easiest day for our family. The kids did see their father in the evening at the ice cream stand & park, but for me, the big news of the day was that my son reached out to his father whom he hasn't seen for 10 years I think, and received a POSITIVE response. This is what i have been waiting for. For so long. I know it will take time but at least they have agreed to reach out to each other, and "start clean". Since he left in 1981, Colleen has always tried to retain connection with him, Meg is apathetic, but I know if she saw him,she would be right in his arms. Dave has remained angry and casting all blame on his father, at last he is now re-assessing things as an adult instead of a hurt child. Of course the child will always be with him but hopefully now can take more of a back seat. I feel so grateful that at least an initial step has been taken

Hope Carole will have a good time in the US. New York is not my fav place, but others love the hive of activity. I personally don't want vacation or holiday to involve more than normal chaos.(and we all know how 'normal' my chaos is LOL).
One more week of school and then 2 months of kids home 24/7. Again it hasn't worked out for me to fly over the pond but I keep buying a lottery ticket when the numbers are high (last Friday was $95 million - one winner to receive $50million and 45 others to potentially receive $1 million each. I'm not greedy, one million would be fine!!!
Have to go and pick up a friend, whose car has died, catch you all later, hugs to those who need one today.

That's it Gail..... do it later when you feel a little better.

I have always said, that I don't nag, I simply repeat requests which have been IGNORED!!

Just had Lisa and Lewis here. He is the most beautiful boy.... and I am allowed to say that. ;-0)
He is two on Thursday, and talks and dances and is just so happy.
He is always laughing, and always was. From a tiny baby, he laughed at everything. Bless him, and all the babies who think that the world is theirs. I pray that it always will be.

had an e-mail from Carole . she is in America now and it is hot.
Bless her, I hope she has a wonderful time.
well, I am still trying to sort out my mail!!
See you all later.
Love and hugs to all.

GranOfOzRubySlippers Report 21 Jun 2010 14:09

So true Ann, then we are in a very large country and I am still to explore Western Australia, the Northern Territory and the north of Queensland, so much to see. I do have ambitions of seeing Scotland one day so will need a passport then. Closest I have been overseas was to Tasmania (Ozzie joke) Tasmania is beautiful. My OH said that the top eastern part of Tas reminded him of England. I would love to go back there one day. My OH wants to see Venice.

I also get frustrated when I have difficulty doing things, but not as much now and can leave things until I am fit/able enough to do them. At times things get out of hand, but who cares.

AnninGlos Report 21 Jun 2010 13:55

Couldn't go anywhere then Gail, we who live in a tiny country like to get away occasionally and they wont let us out or in without a passport!!!

Deanna I do agree about men finding getting old and not being able to do things harder than women. They do need jollying along a lot don't they?

I saw the following in the paper today:
There is no such thing as a nagging woman..... Just a man who didn't do what he was told the first time!!

Hazel thinking of you and have sent you a PM.

Well, one ginger fluffy cat now thinks her sleeping place is no longer near the fire, but my chest!!!! So we now have to close the bedroom door to keep her out. Really not very funny when you wake up with a Basil Brush tail wrapped around your nose. She is also no light weight, so have a very sore chest again. Plus her very fine fur makes me sneeze. And no, I cannot put her out in the frost. Why after 14 years she has decided to do this is any ones guess.

Now all of you with passports you should just be like me, I do not own one. Problem solved.

Hi Hazel, I really, really feel for you.
Been there, done that.... couldn't even afford the T:shirt.

Just keep at it love, I PROMISE.... I truly PROMISE, that things will get better.
I cannot say, when, or what, or who will change things for you, but it will change.
You will even look back on these days and find something to laugh at.
Chin up Hazel. Look after HAZEL. All it takes a little time each day to remember that you too need looking after. A treat... even if it is only time alone in the bath, with a good book!
You will come out refreshed. ((X))

Ann, So is my friend. She is so very organised and capable... but, her husband was carrying the passports. I don't mean that he is NOT capable... but... well Paul... it was YOU who lost it! ha ha ha

As for you Liz.... I am taking no advice from YOU..... You can't even fix a bloomin phone up!!
Where are you?? :-P.... X

The sun is shinning here and it is lovely. I have been doing a bit of housework.. THREE HOURS... it took me to do this tiny little bungalow.
1 bed, 1 kitchen, 1 living room!!
AND, I'm not finished yet.
I don't mind the getting old, I couldn't care less about the fat or the wrinkles.... but, the things I can no longer do, really upsets me. I am sure I am not alone. I do find though, that I can handle it easier than my husband, men cannot let go as well as women can. Do any of you agree?

Well, Best put some washing in to soak... very little but it has to be done.

Have a calm day, and I hope to see you later.

It's a really good idea to take a photocopy of your passport details pages and keep in a different place to the real one when away or at home.

Deanna, I am paranoid about my passport, dread losing it while away, not that it can't be replaced but all the inconvenience and hassle of explaning about it in a foreign country. We belong to M&S cardsafe which is mainly to protect lost credit cards but it also protects passports as well, thankfully have not had to put it to the test as yet and hope we don't. Trouble is we use credit cards when away and places like supermarkets want to see a passport as proof of identity. So I usually carry mine all the time.

Hope your chest recovered slightly after you managed to dislodge the cat Gail...
If you like to hear about people's holiday stories... my friend Noreen came down today with one of her own.
Long story but cutting it short, her passport went missing and it took a long exhausting time to get a temporary replacement.
A story of exhaustion, worry and starvation. Poor souls, what a time they had. Still, they are back home and everything is okay.
She has sworn that she will NEVER leave home again!! Yeah right.. she loves her holidays.
NEW YORK Carole? Enjoy yourself.

I am going to bed after a few e-mails. So good night everyone.

I have had a dose of flu and this morning woke up on my back, which is unusual, and was having trouble breathing and my chest felt very tight and heavy. When I finally came fully awake, it was to discover that I had a very large ginger cat asleep on my chest.

Gail

PS I also love hearing about others holidays. Carole hope you have a great time.

Deanna

Deanna Report 16 Jun 2010 18:20

Go on Ann, talk about your holidays all you want.
I am only joking anyway.
If I wanted to go on holiday I could, but because of the wheelchair I would find it a terrible chore.
We have discussed going to Ireland , the four of us.... by car so that we could have the car over there.
It would be great and son & dil could share the driving.... BUT.
Because of my (little) problem, I am a bit afraid to try. But I would like OH to go. He comes from there and often gets homesick. They would go by plane if I did not go, but they will not hear of it!
AND.... you talk all you want about ANYTHING you feel like talking about. Other peoples envy is NOT your responsibility Ann.
So, off you go, travel away, I was born travelling so don't worry about me. My husband was in the merchant navy and has been everywhere, many times. Son and dil have been around too.
So you enjoy.
To all you others, have a wonderful holiday and tell me all about it later.
Love & hugs to all who need them,

Lol Deanna, yes I know. Sorry shouldn't go on, never sure whether or not to talk about holidays, I do know how lucky we are and do realise that others are not so fortunate.

And yes, I have been cold here too, there was a cold wind out there today.

We have been having *STAY-CATIONS* for years.... ;-0)
So... If it rains on you in any of the hot, hot, hot countries..... Allan and I don't care!

Jealous you say??? D**N right we are jealous.

I'm off to bed now for a bit of a read... and a warm.
I have been FREEZING all day.... *Flaming June?* I don't think so.

Good night everyone, have a good rest.
Love to all and Ann, you know I'm kidding don't you?

Hugs to all,

Carole, bless her, so tiny still but glad she is gaining weight.
Enjoy your holiday, about time I had another one!!

Deanna I exhaust myself...... we were up to our eyes this afternoon re-arranging flights for four of us in October/November because the one booked has been cancelled well actually we don't think it ever existed, we think that the online travel firm had not latched on to the fact that return times were in November and BA didn't operate to Paphos then.. It has taken all afternoon and I was not even doing it, T was, but I was getting the 'backlash'! then because we had changed flight times we had to change taxi arrangements, then, because originally daughter had booked separately they wouldn't let T change their taxi arrangements, although they knew we were flying together. Anyway done now, airport changed from Gatwick to Bristol, airline from BA to Easyjet and time from 9am to 13.30. Hotel stayed the same
