Happy New Year everyone
The birds are feeding from the new feeders I am pleased to report. Mainly Great Tits, Blue Tits and Caffinches, the robin chases all away and the blackbirds ar onto the pyrocantha berries over the last few days. The wood pigeons come down for any scraps especially grainy bread.

Best Wishes Linda xxx <3 <3 <3 :-) :-) :-)

A Happy New Year to you Shaun and everyone here. That was a lovely poem.
I can't believe how fast this year has gone.(I know I say this every year) lol,but it has flown by.Just like our little birds.
I still have a lone Moorhen pottering around the garden most days.I think it is from next door ,but it seems to be the only one.Looks a lonely soul :-(

LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 26 Dec 2011 15:43

Good afternoon everyone
Ann we spent this afternoon building the station and filling up the feeders with sunflower hearts, mixed seed and peanuts which we already have, plus the heart shaped fruit and fat feeder another gift.
We have put it near where we already have feeders on our pergola. Oh and filled the water tray too.
We have seen one or two birds checking it out and hopefully more will visit tomorrow in the daylight.
I'll let you know if we get any new birds here.

Need to go to a garden centre and get some fat balls and meal worms now for our robin.

Have a nice break from work those still working and enjoy the holiday everyone else.

Just realised this morning that the small Woodpecker hanging off the bottom of the Peanut Feeder is a Great Spotted.( I think so anyway.).I did take a pic this morning but haven't put in on my computer yet ,so don't know how well it will come out .If it is a Great Spotted, that is brilliant as so far we have only had the Green ones.

Oh that's lovely Linda. Don't forget they will probably take time to get used to it. We'll enjoy hearing about the progress.

Our birds are getting fatter by the day, little cannibals. they have been enjoying scraps from the turkey and gammon and left over bread sauce etc,

Morning all
I had my lovely gift yeaterday from the family. It was the bird feeding station that I had expressed a wish for.
So must get hubby to look at it later today, then the birds will have a Christmas present themselves.

ANN, I have sent some photos for your blog.

JANE, sorry but I missed your post asking where I'm from.
I'm almost in Red Kite Country , Rhayader. Living on the Welsh Marches one foot in Wales and the other in England. They call it ``Powys`` but it will all ways be ``RADNORSHIRE`` to me, I don't like change just for the sake of it.
You all take care.

Jane, yes of course it will still do some good, as does every trip to a charity shop, and it made you shift yourself to have a clear out so is good for you too (more space for new clothes!!!) But, yes, misleading and a bit naughty, a sort of one over on other charity shops.

Linda, still feeding the birds here too although it is noticeable that the last couple of days there have not been so many as it has not been so cold.

Shaun, thank you that is lovely and a sentiment I would wish for everyone on here too.
