To Mersey and all the contributors on this thread. It looks like I didn't do anything wrong yesterday. I have got a copy of the boards database from before my thread restore attempt, and the posts that I thought I'd deleted by accident were already gone. All the messages appear to be blank. I have no idea how this happened. I will try one more thing. After that I might have to concede defeat on this one. Really sorry.
I hope you can rekindle (no pun intended) the discussion.

Just finished reading "Box of Tricks" by Jeff Phelps . Set in the early 1960s in New Brighton, written from a young lad's perspective when he stays with his grandmother, aunt and cousin in his aunt's boarding house.

Well worth a read, especially if you remember being a teen in that period, or the area New Brighton, Birkenhead and the Mersey generally :-)

Just finished reading a book called A Loo With a View by Luke Barclay

He has visited loo's all over the world, at the tops of mountains, in high rises, and some of the views are stunning
