Haven't posted on here before but I often look at the thread as I read a lot. Thought it was about time I added something. I have just started Earthly Joys by Philippa Gregory. It's about the gardener John Tradescant and his relationship with Robert Cecil and Cecil's homes and gardens.

Fingers Crossed that it is.

Well Susanwiv told me to visit as well. I am reading a good book but have forgotten the name and the author :-D

Set in USA, it is about a 15 year old girl called Hannah who is on trial for the murder of her step grandfather who was a famous and respected judge. She is being defended by a lawyer called Josey who has a manfriend called Archer. Anyway it doesnt look so good for poor Hannah, who is beautiful but has severe OCD and has to count to 20 for everything. The odds are stacked against her....but there is a twist!

Will check out the name later :-D <3

Just coming on following Susan's encouragement to post on threads ;-)

I am reading "Merry Hall" Beverley Nichols (who is probably my favourite author for his wit and wisdom ) it is about the house and garden he bought, and is gentle, amusing and paints a lovely picture of how his garden 'grew'. :-)

Hi Doodles.

I am not actually reading a book at the moment but have the audio version of A Time travellers guide to Elizabethen England. I have just listened to Ian Mortimer's other book, A time travellers guide to Medieval England...They are in book form too as well as a kindle edition.

I highly recommend them :-)

When will there be good times by Kate Atkinson

She also wrote one good turn and case histories with Jackson Brodie as one of the characters. starts with a flash back to when three members of one family are killed and the main story centres on the little girl who escaped. Excellent.
