Hobbies and Crafts

Now I am intrigued Von to know what your art project will actually portray. And is it an actual painting? A collage? Or something else? Hmm! :-)

Not a painting as I usually work in textiles :-D

The project sounds very interesting Von, could you take a pic when its finished,
I was more of a sewer than a knitter , so did machine embroidery and tried not to dem the knitting machines...although I did knit by hand baby stuff, and then in later life knitted dolls the 15 inch size,
and small ones for an orphanige in Romania....cant do it now though fingers get sore.

Small world.....talking of Roumanian orphans. A UK couple adopted an orphan and they moved here where he grew up. He's a delightful young man who's going to be married soon. He's always smiling despite his impaired mobility due to polio etc. He's as bright as a button. A lovely ending to his story. His Mum has worked tirelessly for the orphans over the years even taking the case to Brussels where she spoke eloquently of their ongoing plight.

Yes they were Winifred, a nice story came from one of the orphanies, I made 50 small knitted dolls some for girls and some for boys, one little boy aged about 8 wet the bed every night, so they gave him a sailor doll and he never wet the bed again, just wanted something to love :-) :-) <3 <3 made it all worth while...

Couldnt resist any longer :-D :-D back to the crafting stayed off it for two whole days,
but temptation won in the end... and I had some Ideas wizzing around in my head so I just had to have ago, so made a few cards I will take the pics and send them to you Ann, hope the sun is shining for you, its quite dull here but its early yet so it could change later....

I have been playing around with colouring some of the white diecut shapes, today and I have a lot of small bows had them quite a while not colours I like now, so I coloured
some of them too and then realised if I got all white bows I could do them any colour I want, to match the cards too....never can make bows even with a bow maker :-S :-S
I have also invested in dies that are words and greetings so used all my bits of card and have a nice selection now,

Sounds interesting Jean

3 of Shauns cards on the blog and 3 of mine. This afternoon I have made two cards using a couple of photos I took in Spain, I am really pleased with them, ideal for male cards. Just a photo of 8 yachts moored, no sails just masts and reflected in the water which was like a mirror that day, hardly any colour in the photos at all. Will put them on the blog tomorrow.

Well I came in from gardening fully intending to make some cards but was so tired I couldn't be bothered Lol!!!

I have just packed all my card stuff away until we come back , I have some pics and just waiting for D to put them on for me ,so I will let you have a look Ann , you do right to rest when you are tired, the cards will still be there :-D :-D :-D

Yes Ann, sat to sat, it will be a nice change both for us and Debra too....
its only a couple of hours drive for Jeff so we are soon there....bit of sun would be nice no wind or rain thought . over the years we have had every sort of weather. not much snow but plenty of rain and wind...but our holidays abroad are good memories now, when I think back we have had loads of hols both abroad and here , so now we do whats easiest for us ...I dont do any cooking we eat out all the time , just take cereals for breakfast, so easy peasy...buy any nibbles and extras when we are there, and best of all if I need a nap I can have one ....lol....
