My father was in this unit and served in France. I want to know how he joined this. Would it have been in Canada or here. Where can I find his records?

Google is always worth a look for information - eg.

Should you choose you further your research, you may wish to register with the Internet Archive as there are over 135 results for the CEF including lists of nominal rolls, war diaries etc

I actually went to Vimy Ridge and visited the Canadian War Cemetery. My father survived the war although he did lose a leg. I got his war records from Ontario. Quite where I got them from I am not sure but I will explore and come back to you

Welcome to the boards Allan

Susan may not be looking for replies now, especially as she didn't respond to replies when she first posted. Genes doesn't let posters know of replies.

You can try clicking on her name in green in that first post of hers and send her a personal message. Genes will inform her that there is a PM in the system, and as long as she has kept the same email address that she registered with GR she can access your message. It's then up to her as to whether she replies to you.
