Great Question Shimms

Ok now I had to Google this one and it differs

Originally The Hard Hat was invented or thought up by a Franz Kafia in the KIngdom of Bohemia in 1912. They were heavy metal ones. Based on World War 1 Helmets

I have also found that Edward W. Bullard an American says he was the first to invent the Hard Hat in 1919 based on World war 1 Helmets he produced them made of lighter materials

Now some one is telling fibs here so not sure who is the original inventor

So the Date confuses me if it was Franz Kafia it would be 1912. If Edward Bullard it would be 1919

So my answer so far is (probably wrong but it's fun trying to find the answer)

The First Hard Hat was Invented by a Californian Man of Safety Equipment in N 1912 or 1919

Morning Jackie, Daphne

Gosh, well done, you are doing so well ... Daphne was correct with manufacturer yet I think tis Jackie's.

Jackie, I had the same conversation with someone about who was the first to manufacture the hard hat, WW1 came into it too. :)

I'm going to give it to you, you're right ... well done!

The first hard hat was invented by a California manufacturer of safety equipment in 1919.

Twas the one about Edward D Bullard who apparently still manufacture hard hats today.

Daphne

Daphne Report 29 Jan 2009 06:51

As hot as yesterday,170 trains canceled this afternoon and some suburbs are on 2 hours off 2 hours on with electricity. You would think it was Africa or some 3rd world country.

ShimmsRedRoseAndMistletoe Report 29 Jan 2009 06:54

Gosh Daphne, tis hot ...

It's the same here in Winter when we get leaves, snow on the train lines ... trains and more are cancelled.

Daphne

Daphne Report 29 Jan 2009 06:59

We could avoid the electricity cuts if people weren't so selfish, some are crazy with air conditioning. One place I worked in the office was so cold in summer we had to wear sweaters and if anyone tried to turn it down a little there would be a row.

Oh goodness ...

Years ago I used to walk 3 miles to work ... in Winter the heat from the Office used to literally overwhelm me and I'd open the window, only to find it closed by others who'd arrived by car.

Twas always difficult knowing what to wear.

How are you all this morning?

I know you said I was right but what did the N at the end stand for as I didn't put anything in there. I was thinking Nevada but not sure.
Let me know before I put another one up.

Shimms how is your Dad?

Hugs

Tis like magic, Daphne asks where you are Jackie and 'pff!', you appear! Luvin it lol.

The same Jackie hun, am hoping now things will be okay for him, must say it's been quite hard these past few days yet not as hard as it's been for him.

The N was 19, solved earlier. Tis yours, so glad you all enjoyed it too ... chose it especially because everyone needs a hard hat when Shimms is around lol!

Over to you ... :))

Daphne
I just heard about that in the Hairdressers. How could you do that to your own daughter. He wants locking up and throw away the key. I just can't get my head around someone just literally throwing a little child off a bridge. Custody battle or not children are innocent
