Milk will be frozen by the time you get it home.

Speaking of Milk .... Do they still have Milkmen in UK that deliver to your door. You don' see them here any more.
I rememer when I was a young girl in England it was delieverd on a horse and cart and we had to take a jug outside it was ladled from a big Churn
'Wonderful milk though not like the rubbish you get now. Thick cream on top. My mother used to skim the cream off and whip it up to have with fruit or Apple Pie

Good morning all.
(Just about) p'nawn dda Jackie and Daphne, (if Daphne's around, but would she understand it ! lol, ,if she has no Welsh connections ) Good Afternoon Daphne , more like Good evening for you.
We do still have doorstep milk deliveries,( I myself don't) I was helping push a milk float that was stuck in the snow on Tuesday, and blocking the entrance to our 'housing area'.He only lives in the next road across, he'd been out since 3am that morning, he has 2 rounds and travels about 30 miles to each. He'd finished his rounds , this was midday, and he failed to get his milk float home, like my hubby that day he had to leave it about 100yds from his home. Snowing again so hubby's taken my car again.
I hate this white stuff!! All that pushing of vehicles and clearing the white stuff, no wonder my back is aching again..lol

Morning Sandie :)

When I was a teenager one of my friends was a milkman. We got up at the crack of dawn and between us all whizzed round delivering his milk to customers then went off to Great Yarmouth where ... ohhhhhhhhh ... I was thrown into the sea!

Not keen on this ice either, have a tendancy to break bones lol.

ShimmsRedRoseAndMistletoe Report 5 Feb 2009 10:51

Cheeky!

No, tis the Indian way of plucking Sandie, no pain and no hairs left, not even a shadow. My sister is fab at it. Wish I could do it lol.

Hello, again

sorry, I went for a walk to the shops. Lovely out - the pavements are fine, crossing the estate roads is treacherous, and the main road is just wet. Snow has stopped falling at the moment here (Warwickshire)

LadyBarbara Report 5 Feb 2009 10:55

Is it where they use a thread and whip it about a bit over your brows and they've all gone.

I remember a friend who used to shave her eyebrows and she did it that often they stopped growing, lol, she looked really weird when the eyebrow pencil started to fade, wonder if they ever grew back.lol

I've been to Warwickshire Liz, many years ago now ... tis full of history. :)

Yes Barb, tis so clever too.

I'll make you laugh ...

Many, many years ago when an early teenager, I 'loathed' my eyebrows being plucked so I put this cream on them.

Was lying in a bath full to the top with bubbles, Motown playing, me singing when ohhhhhhhhhhhh, the pain! Got out, looked in the mirror and oh my word, I screamed, literally!

I'd used the wrong type of cream, I had burnt my eyebrows off and oh gosh, they were red ... had to draw them on for what seemed forever, kept wiping them off ...

What a sight and I had to go to school! Took me ages to live that one down lol! roflol

See, I've always been dippy!
