Hi, Daphne.
Do you remember I said I'd just found out a friend's mum had bowel cancer on saturday? She died yesterday. I've known them over 30 years.

That's dreadful Liz,it is so common these days although it has been with us since ancient times.I have lost relatives from it.The only hope lies in research to save lives in future.
I'm sorry you lost your friend.

I see Mick has checked in on a thread, thats good.Seems he didn't live where he said, might have been in more danger than we thought.

Often best not to give out too many details on the net never know who is reading, while most people are good there are always a few who aren't.

Already bogus charities are springing up on the net collecting money supposedly for the fire victims.

Liz

Liz Report 9 Feb 2009 10:39

just read Mick's post - don't know what to say.

Daphne

Daphne Report 9 Feb 2009 10:46

I saw a family on TV who survived in a specially built concrete bunker they built as a precaution.Makes me wonder why they are not compulsory in fire prone areas.
Shire authorities impose crazy rules regarding the colours you can paint a house or the shape and dimensions of mail boxes so why not fireproof basements or bunkers.
