Daphne you are so close with Romantic

"the Fighting Temeraire" was Painted by Joseph Mallard William Turner in Oils on Canvas During the Romanticism Epoch in 18ThirtyNine

Jackie you were so close with Era, tis Epoch

Different time periods in the history of art.

Well done both of you, will leave it to you to decide who goes next. Am listening to Katherine Jenkins, Secret Love, shedding a few tears for Daddy, my son, back later. Am okay, just a moment when I need time alone. xxx

An Epoch is a very long period usually tens of thousands of years strange usage in that particular context.

WhackyJackieInOz Report 12 Feb 2009 11:29

Yes I thought the same Era would have been more fitting I think. That is a long time but not as long as an Epoch

How are they allowed to build such a high building in a heritage area ?
That spoils the whole look of a place

WhackyJackieInOz Report 12 Feb 2009 11:50

Yes went to Port Arthur Daphne.
I felt it was spooky during the middle of the day but very interesting.

Regarding the Theatre. WE fought for years to try and stop the building and also the local residents kicked up a stink. But Multiplex got their own way and now we have this awful building blocking our view of the beautiful Canning River. Of course the Parking in our Car park is also a problem as they park in ours as they have a hotel there too and have got rid of a lot of their own carpark that was oringinally there. So we have to man our carpark when we have shows on to stop them parking there. Ot has caused all sorts of problems
