Yes crime is rampant isn't it. I have been lucky and never been involved with any domestic or other kind of vioence but Pensioners are very vunerable here and there isn;t a week goes by that you don;t hear of bashings of elderly people. We have to barrakade ourselves in even in the daytime these days. No freedom anymore

Last time we were burgled we waited over an hour for police although a large 24/7 Police Station is a 5 minute walk away.
Driving in the city we were stopped at a traffic light when a taxi passing illegally over double lines to get into the turning lane knocked our mirror off and kept going .We followed him till he had to stop and asked for his details,using a mobile phone he called a mob of his countrymen to attack us and we had to go without any details.The police would do nothing for fear of a racial incident .We reported him to the taxi board who promised to suspend his taxi liscence.
Guess what not only no taxi liscence .no driver's liscence either
I made a list to send to the local MP and was surprised to find 11 incidents over a period of years and only one came to court.

My goodness thats outrageous.
For one thing we don"t have enough Police
Too slow at getting there sometimes like in your case.
And the judicial system stinks.

I was digusted to hear that if that guy who lit the fires gets convicted he will only recieve 25 years and with good behavior will be out earlier. I am not saying I believe in Capital Punishment but he should certainly never be released. Then If he had burnt my house down and killed some of my family I might change my mind about Capital Punishment

I wonder if the Judges house had been set on fire. How long would he get then?

Something has to be done in the courts they just treat the criminals like Naughty boys. They have got a little strickter here in W A and the State Government have stepped in not releasing some of the Criminals early but still more needs to be done.

In another arson case the Judge was changed because he had lost his house in the bushfire and might be too strict on the defendant.

Oh My goodness surely that's what they need strictness to deter others from doing it. Maybe if they were a bit stricter with the crimes it would help to deter a little of it at least
