Hi Sandie

Tis a damp, chilly day here ... am pleased the sun is shining for you. :))

I am guessing lol!

I kind of understand it yet cannot explain it

Computers use binary language xxx

Hi Shimms
I understand the Binary system ( well almost from school days lol),
which I can see would make.....
Binary is coded b Written as 2^(2^1)+1, F i C a a F P
but there are no 2 in binary
and I can't understand the use of the ^ symbol, which could either be a carat, meaning to insert a word in the line , or a circumflex.
Confused Sandie. com ,signing off for a mo to put my washing out .lol

Hi Ladies
B i c b W as 2^(2^1)+1, F i C a a F P

I put..... (2^(2^1)=..... in my search engine and it came up with the answer 5
Nothing else to help though
Not good at this sort of thing lol

Not sure what the ^ means

Have Googled and this was the answer

What Does The ^ Symbol Mean?

Example:

Hi Jackie :))

I've never read so much confusing binary information in my life lol!

Googled and came up with
2^(2^1) = 4

Something to do with calculators

WhackyJackieInOz

WhackyJackieInOz Report 20 Feb 2009 11:43

I did the same and it was to do with Calculators but my answer was 5 Shimms

Perhaps we add an extra one in Oz lol

Oh just found someone answering the question on what the ^ Symbol means and they say

"To the power of"
"It is NOT a standard mathematics (or physics) symbol but is used on the internet when you aren't able to write superscripts."

Not sure if that is a help to any of you

lol Jackie
when I 'signed off ' saying I was going to put my washing out I was going to use the word flummoxed. com but couldn't spell it so said confused.com instead !

WhackyJackieInOz Report 20 Feb 2009 12:20

The Fibonacci numbers are 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, .etc.. (add the last two to get the next)

So that means
0+1= 1
1+ 2= 3...
2+ 3=5..
5+8=13 etc

But does that help

WhackyJackieInOz

WhackyJackieInOz Report 20 Feb 2009 12:22

Hi Sandie
Lol I checked the spelling of Flummoxed before I put it up Got it right too lol

How are you today?
