Now it;s where my son lives a new area called Butler 20 minutes North of me and about 45 minutes from the city

Shimms that is what we were we came here for 10 pounds as they were wanting the population to grow in Australia so the British government and the Austrlaian goverment paid our fares. You had to stay here 2 years or pay it back. All we paid was 10 pounds

POMS have different meanings

Prisoner of Mother England which was the Ball and chain guys many years ago
Pomme as in Pomegranite because we had rosy cheeks

I had broad shoulders so I never got offended

It;s not used so much these days
